Me no likee. Way I prefer to watch anime is, dub first unless it's just unbearable. If I really like it I'll watch it again with the dub, and the third time through I like to see it pure, untraslated. With DVD this is possible, but some companies hard-code the subs on so you either watch the dub or watch it with text on the screen.

The His & Her Circumstances DVD should be the future of anime DVD. not only are dubs and subs optional, but you have different levels of subbing for speech and onscreen Japanese text.

The Kare Kano DVDs make me tingly all over!! I'm a person who likes my options open. That doesn't necessarily mean that I will choose a different option, but I want that there. Just in case I suddenly get the urge Very Happy Hard subs or whatever limit my choices. That's bad >.<
