Perfect timing as I've been thinking of rewatching Macros Frontier again.

Distributors commission dubs all the time, including streamers. Netflix certainly does it (in the US and overseas). Anytime someone “licenses” a property to distribute, they’re the ones that commission the dubs 9 times out of 10, not the Japanese owners.
But Nozomi owns the rights to these shows in the US and not Disney and they didn't announce a dub for any of the Macross titles they licensed. If a dub was going to happen Nozomi would have announced it. Given Macross' history in English, it shouldn't be that surprising that Big West might not want a dub.

Nozomi has the home video license, not the rights. Just like how Disney has the streaming license, not the rights. Netflix is able to produce dubs of anime they have the streaming license to, where the home video license goes elsewhere (often without their dubs). Big West is clearly fine with older Macross material having their dubs, and I doubt they’d object to any dubbing, especially if they can supervise it (which would almost certainly be the case). I think the situation here is that the franchise is simply seen as too obscure to be worth the cost, which is unfortunate.

I guess the USA is not considered part of the globe.

Not for the sake of this sort of regional distribution, unfortunately.

Seems like a classic Disney minimalist approach. Which sucks.

It should be noted Frontier and Delta are also streaming on Disney+ in Australia and they apparently also just got the movies for both series.
