I enjoyed DAKAICHI I thought it was really funny.

I also want to mention that the anime is showing signs of being better than the manga. The anime removed the worst of the problematic scene and as a result made the start of their relationship more consensual.

The other shows I am interested in this season:
Double Decker
Tsurune
Gakuen Basara

If this site were to take a hard stance against lolicons, they would need to stop advertising lolicon shows and manga and stop accepting advertisement from companies that sell lolicon figurines, which is not happening anytime soon.

Wow. Goblin Slayer is quite literally "Doomguy! The Anime". Guaranteed to be a hit here.

I disagree pretty hard with Nick in regards to DP's jojo "taking a step back." This first episode is definitely not just "capturing Araki's storytelling." First of all there are a lot of little transitions (Koichi holding the photo while talking to jotaro -> him holding it while walking in italy; Luca's shovel coming down on the taxi driver -> tire squealing) that I think work really well (neither of those were in the manga), but also about a quarter of this episode consists of completely original scenes added in to make this introduction to Giorno go smoother -- and those scenes mesh with Araki's material nicely.

I also think that the wider color palette is a must because of this season's wider range of locations -- I don't wanna get into spoilers, but the fact that DIU takes place in one town makes it easy to give that single spot a clear aesthetic direction. This doesn't.

So yeah, that ep of jojo was good. Also looking out for more golden kamuy and willing to give karakuri circus a try. Yay anime.

So, in short "I don't like it, so it's offensive, and it should be tailored to my tastes".

That is NOT what I was saying, so don't go there.

This my second and final warning, as a Moderator for you to just get over the fact that there are people who legitimately find lolicon disgusting and move on. Ignore them and enjoy the show if you like. This thread isn't going to be allowed to descend into back-and-forth diatribes about lolicon - whether for or against! - and that's final.

Still, this is a TRIGGER production, and one that's clearly being given a lot of resources and attention from the studio

I'm sorry, but how could it be considered true? We have characters changing positions without any movement or motion (starting dialog between protagonist and his friend when Gridman shows on screen first time), just from frame to frame (and it doesn't seem like any artistic licence, as it only happens in one scene) or slow camera pan over scene in classroom that looks worse than some Higurashi in-between animation.

It seems like they run out of funds before first episode, not like "fluid and expressive animation".

I'm not going into story, as there is only that much facepalms I can do before hurting myself.

I actually mentioned this very scene in my review, and specifically noted it as a criticism.

Thanks for (very fast too) answer.
Yes, this is why I'm asking - how can you write about good animation quality when these scenes exists?

“Fluid and expressive” May not be the best way to describe Gridman’s animation, but I honestly thought it was really nice to look at during the slice-of-life segments, such as the school. It’s one of the few anime I’ve seen where the school felt like an actual school and not just a “copy-paste” of the usual environment.

There’s nice details in the environment that made the place feel like it’s actually being inhabited, and students were doing teen things, like having their phones out to record some random antics at lunch time or Rikka’s friend (platonically) having her arms around her. I also found the colors and lighting to be very pleasant.

I did think the battle with the Kaiju at the end was really lackluster though ^^;; The music during the scene was great! But the CGI wasn’t anything spectacular or intense. It’s a shame they didn’t 2D animate those parts as we know Trigger can do amazing stuff with mechs.

But I am curious how it’ll go from here after that small reveal at the end, so I’ll probaly stick with Gridman for a little longer.

It's one scene, seems like player getting hiccup and doesn't jibe at all with main style and precious scene style.

Even if it was intentional and not trying to cut budget... "The Room" had clear intentional artistic vision, but it doesn't make it good.

Complaining when a lolicon title removes any loli fanservice for an adaptation is justified.
You wouldn't want your battle shounen with battles removed, or BL series with any BL removed either (yeah I'm disgusted when I see someone fangirling about their yaoi couples, but I don't go and flame them about it, it's not a title for me, it's not my place to judge).
What the troll here is doing is going personal, because of his disgust about a certain thing, that's clearly not targeted for him to begin with.

Yes, this show should not exist. Was I not clear on this before? This show not only crosses the line, it crosses it gleefully and with absolutely clarity.

And yes, if you think this show is bad because it doesn't have enough child fanservice, then that makes you...bad.

You could just say you don't want shows you don't like to not exist, would save you a lot of time.

It's true that the show isn't fluid in the same way that, say, Iroduku is - I was referring more to the tone that you mentioned up above, or in the early scenes with Rikka and Yuta walking in the mist. There's a weight to the scenes in this that has as much to do with direction as animation, if not more so. Perhaps I could have worded that better. Such is the difficulty of communicating one's thoughts when working with the rapid pace and compressed space of the preview guide, I suppose!
