Hmm, superhumans with superhuman abilities that aren't Quirks? Rather than a plot twist that changes everything we come to know about the story of My Hero Academia, it feels more like a plot twist that invalidates Eraserhead's powers. Like how Aoyama was revealed as the traitor, this one seems to come out of nowhere.
Another example? Midoriya's new secret power. I feel it's going to come out eventually. Just can't imagine what kind of power it is right now.

Eraserhead's been unable to change physical characteristics of people since the start, even if their entire quirk is technically just that physical characteristic, like that classmate's big tail, or Gigantomachia's whole being. I guess the 'big' change here is how putting a whole lot of Quirks in someone will cause them to change physicially at will - we've seen change before but it didn't seem controlled.

I don't know, maybe that's true. I just don't like how this revelation felt too convenient. It's revealed there and then, just when it seems that Shigaraki is outnumbered and outplayed if there's still a way to nullify his powers (in this case yes, with Monoma replicating Eraserhead's power).
It's the same way with Midoriya's power of sensing danger. He got this power last season, but it hasn't been useful lately, at least with Toga. The reasoning why it didn't work with her... I fail to see it. Also felt convenient that it failed right during Operation Troy, and essentially throwing a monkey wrench into it.

Please remind me never to bitch about flashbacks in Demon Slayer ever again. That show has a lot of flashbacks during fights which tends to lessen the impact of the fight and emotional resolution for me yet this week's episode of My Hero is way worse. I get wanting to make the story complete by showing Dabi his past, but to add so many flashbacks of things we have already seen before really took me out of what is a pretty critical moment.

What do you mean? Flashbacks are the foundation of the shounen genre!
I'm half-serious btw. Dabi's flashback is essential, since we've never learned what happened after he "died". The flashback gave the fight more perspective; otherwise, the fight would have been less significant.
Whether there's too much flashback, that's a separate matter though.

Well, if you do a flashback, make it a new one at least, repeating a flashback that has been shown before is just a waste of time.
As for the newest episode: the format of switching between locations and making it into one big mission with the overview does help to keep track of the whole thing and might also help to keep it from feeling overly long. It also seems like every hero is gonna end up with a scar or missing limb or two before the end.

I'm also for the idea of switching between battlegrounds. Keeps the story fresh in our minds. If the show had chosen to stick to just one battleground until the end, I would forget what happened to the other ones. Or at least update us once in a while.
On the next episode:
MORE FLASHBACKS! OLD AND NEW! PLUS ULTRA!

You know, one thing these fights make me think of is how powerful the quirks of the main villains are. That is not to say that most of the heroes have weak quirks yet it seems like only the few true main characters have quirks that can stand up to the villains in a direct confrontation. I get why they chose to make it that way writing wise yet it does make every hero besides the critical few seem like a league or two lower. It also makes me thankful when the not main heroes get a chance to shine.

Hell, scratch that last comment, Tomura his final (for now) form makes everyone else a tier or two lower, main character or not be damned. This week's episode succeeded in making things seem real bleak: the main villains are stronger than ever and the heroes seem to be near defeat.

So, have I been sleeping the past few seasons or has the whole discrimination against Heteromorphs not gotten the proper attention it deserves before now?

As climactic as the show is right now, I must admit that the buildup hasn't been perfect.
The plight of the heteromorphs is just one example: it's explored only now, and Spinner has always been portrayed as a societal shut-in with a strong admiration for Stain. His experiences with discrimination are mentioned only now, which seems pretty convenient. His stance had always been about calling out fake heroes (Stain's message), so why is it now about addressing the pains of the heteromorphs? Is it because fake heroes turn a blind eye to them?
And man, if you think the show is blatant with the flashbacks, the sheer amount of rewind cliché is simply shameless.

I don't quite see how this (final?) season can end in just two episodes. Are we going to have a movie special for the grand finale or something? Because that would kinda suck.

Final:
It's pretty obvious that there's no way My Hero Academia will end this season. Saw that from a mile away. So now my question is: by "final season", will it be an actual series? Or a mini-series? A movie? Because we're literally at the climax of the entire series right now. Think Attack on Titan The Final Season: The Final Chapters (god, this is a stupid title).
A movie or a few extended episodes would suffice, I think. I don't know what else is there to cover. It's just two fights happening concurrently.
As a whole, this series gets a 7/10.
It's a good season. Very climactic. But My Hero Academia has become the quintessential shounen series. Everything that the genre has to offer, the show embodies it. Both the good and bad parts. The action sequences and voice acting have been wonderful. The "jumping back in time" and plot devices have been not-wonderful. It's overdone and some subplots became monumental when their buildup was lacking.
The franchise must pull out all the stops for the final season, aka the grand finale. They have to go out with the loudest bang they can muster.
