I have no idea what this thread is about. Could somebody please elabotate?

More information than "cool" would be helpful.
How is the lack of legal streaming in Holland related to the topic.

When I saw that subject I thought that ANN wanted to hire somebody, now I am not sure.

EDIT: After looking at the front page for the first time in many months I see that ANN is hiring people, but that still does not seem to explain what I am seeing here.

Today, ANN appears to have re-posted an article from last year about job opportunities, which resurrected it's discussion thread along with it.

As for the two existing posts, they're pretty straightforward. The first one from last year is from someone who apparently thought this job offer was cool. Substance-less forum posts are nothing new.

The second one's relevance is pretty clear though. You need wide access to legal streaming sites to be a reviewer, as stated in the job article. That person was simply commenting that they're location made them unfit for the position due to Holland's lack of legal anime streaming.

I'd be all over this but the only problem lies if ANN needs something like a journalism degree for this sort of thing in which I have the wrong degree for.....

Depending on which job you are looking for. We need a journalism degree for new interns (and for anyone we hire in the newsroom).

The other positions do not require a degree. For example, for the critic job that was just advertised, no degree is required. If anything, we'd look more favorably on a film studies degree or a creative writing degree than a journalism degree. What we'd be most interested in seeing would be your writing portfolio, preferably with critical reviews in it.

Well the front-page blurb says:

Quote:
South East Asia Editorial Assistant Needed

Are you almost as passionate about English grammar as you are about anime? Does working with freelance writers to get their content published on ANN appeal to you? This job might be for you.

But the job listing says "Freelance Editorial Contributor."

So are you looking for editors or freelance writers? Or both?

For the video editor staff opening I have several questions:

1. Is the 20k to 30k salary given on a monthly or weekly basis?
2. Will you accept applicants that work from home? If not, do have offices here in the Philippines?
3. What usually is the minimum workload of produced videos must the video editors meet per day? Per week? Per Month?
4. Does this staff opening have other screening stages like interviews, on-the-spot editing, etc.?

Will wait for your kindest response. Thank you!

Sorry, I didn't see this question before.

1 - It's monthly. But we also do the mid-year and 13th month.
2 - We only accept work from home
3 - It depends on the length of the videos and the complexity, but typically we'll be looking at 2-4 videos a week.
4 - There will be an interview (over video chat) and a test video or two.
