Seemed like an unusually awkward transition between stories this week. The episode left me with lots of questions.

What was the point of the the conversation with the grandfather about spoiler[buying new outfits? Was it implying something happened to Gojo's clothes in the love hotel? Marin noticed something was happening when she was sitting on Gojo, but did she actually realize what it is she felt?] Was there was reason Marin inched off the bed the way she did? What exactly was Marin referring to when she said "That was way too close."?

That whole scene was done so well, especially the silent bit. So many wonderful little details. So much tension. So much conveyed without speaking. I'm wondering if next week there will be ramifications or will the story just move along.

Gojo has no fashion sense whatsoever and the scene with Grandpa reinforces that, great scene BTW. spoiler[No, Marin didn't feel Gojo's flesh bump, his exasperated reaction to the fact killed that moment. Not sure about Marin inching, Marin is like a bull in a china shop, she constantly plows forward without thinking and when she realizes what was happening at that particular moment common virgin sense kicked in and she reacted as she did.] It goes without saying, this anime is as wholesome and horny as it gets!

Harem anime would kill to have a moment as tense as Marin and Gojo on the bed. I'm really curious if that'll matter next episode.

I guess it was only a matter of time until Marin took Gojo to a manga cafe, though her exposed legs and shoulders definitely left as much of an impact in close proximity.

Gojo understanding how Japanese titles works and the concept of slice of life and how you can make even a succubus wholesome was great.

Also interesting conundrum for Gojo to have to adapt a more stylized, less detailed, outfit into reality and a less cutesy figure...but Marin is plenty cute in her own way.

I guess I can't be surprised that Marin would immediately jump at the perfect photography spot even if it ended up being a love hotel...although Marin wearing an outfit that barely covers anything again while they're in there, searching for condoms for good luck, and just in general those photographs...wow.

I love how Gojo and Marin can both forget the situation when they get so into something, at least up until they get reminded where they are and Gojo gets hard and Marin gets flustered...and then things get really intimate. They really looked like they were about to kiss before the phone rang, and how knows how much farther they would've gone had it not. At the end of the day, they are both horny teenagers.

The end of this episode feels like what usually happens in Kaguya, where her and Shirogane get so into their mind games and deceit that they completely forget about the fact that they're in love until it smacks them in the face.

Its absolutely great for sexual tension and comedy. These two are going to have to address the elephant in the room (and Gojo's pants) eventually about their feelings before they end up going too far.

Marin is at least aware of her feelings, but isn't really making any attempt at acting on them or even confirming if Gojo reciprocates (we know he does but she doesn't) and Gojo hasn't even started to explore how he feels....beyond his normal teenage lust that is. Clocks ticking guys.

Finally! The show's main villain reveals itself...Hotel Room Phone!!

Fantastic episode all around. Gojo turning down the volume on the porn was priceless, but to me the high point in an already amazing series were those tense seconds after Gojo grabs Marin on the bed. The heavy breathing and the way we see Marin slowly relax her legs were some of the finest use of body language I've ever seen in anime...

Wow, they're really, ah, edging Gojo and Marin really close to the brink here, eh.

In Gojo's situation it wasn't exactly "edging," if you know what I mean.

I know most people are watching this show for Marin. But I watch it for Gojo. And boy I didn't expect to go into the episode getting to watch Gojo's bulge bulging in real time. A lifetime worth of fanservice for me. Thanks animators for the well-animated bulge. I'm well fed.

To say I was rooting for Marin to say those words at the end of the last episode of the series, well it was like watching St. Peter's incredible win last night...I cheered like there was no tomorrow!!!! Man, they'll be a massive hole to fill now with this series over. If there isn't an announcement for a season two soon, I'm flying over to Japan and knock some heads around. Oh, that fireworks long pause with Marin then sticking out her tongue, knocked me off my chair....my sides will never be the same....

We probably won't be getting a season 2 for at least another year from what I can tell going by the number of manga volumes that have been released in Japan so far. The last episode ends at the end of volume 5 and with the most recent volume, volume 9 being released in Japan only two days ago. Going from what I've seen, a new volume comes out about every 5-6 months which means that there probably won't be enough source material to adapt into another 12 episodes until the end of this year.

I guess she only missed two of her English questions, which isn't bad. Did she do that alone or did Gojo help her?

When she said she was an amateur model, I was wondering if she was being taken advantage of and not getting paid. But since she's doing it to save up money, she obviously is paid for her work. So I think "part-time" would've been more accurate (and prevent me from having a workers'-rights glitch mid-episode).

Great finale, I think this is the perfect place to end the season. I hope we eventually get more, but even if we don't I think it works decently well as a conclusion. Did anyone else think the horror movie they watched was kind of funny in how different both scenes we see are. It goes from like a parody of The Ring, to the ending of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and the title is definitely a parody of the One Missed Call. It makes me wish the film was real because I would love to see how it transitions from a Japanese horror mystery to an American proto-Slasher.

I was really torn between (A) desperately wanting them to just go for the old "girl / guy crushing on each other cling closely to one another during scary movie" trope, because damn I want these two to make some romantic progress, and (B) glad they didn't, because trope. And yeesh, the end-of-episode phone call was adorable. Gutsy of Marin to go for that post-sleep confession! She must be very confident in her ability to diagnose passed-out Gojo over the phone. Laughing

I also wonder if we're gonna get any hints that Gojo is starting to figure out that maybe this isn't just a strictly platonic thing. I mean -- they've been practically tied at the hip, constantly spend time together, she calls just to hear his voice. I realize our boy's lived an isolated one-fellow life up through high school, but surely it's time he began connecting some dots.

If Marin loans him manga with the right kind of story line, maybe he'll figure it out then.

Gojo is your typical male anime rom-com protagonist which means Marin would have to draw him a map supplemented with a 10,000 word essay including bar graphs, illustrations, footnotes, bibliography, and index and then MAYBE.... just MAYBE... he might start to dimly detect a clue.
