Some would say that's a feature not a bug. |
I thought that was one of the big appeals of the show myself...

Nice. I started reading the manga recently and it’s been a treat seeing how things play out in anime form. Looking forward to S2.

This show turned out to be fun and pretty. I am also the type who loves looking at the minutia of in world fantasy systems like Dungeon Meshi does so well, I just love someone being whole heartedly passionate about their interests and I hope the next season features a lot of that. it's like the fun of earnest passion from hobby-centric anime mixed with more fantasy and action.

For most of the season this was a filler series - that is, the kind that I only watch if I'm bored and caught up on everything else. Something about the way Lloyd plays the OP game just annoyed the heck out of me.
But the last three episodes - especially the last one - have been a pleasant surprise, enough so to elevate my overall evaluation of the series. I may now actually be willing to continue watching when its second season rolls around.

Joining the chorus that 7th Prince was a surprisingly entertaining, and great-looking, show, so I'll gladly take more. Beyond the animation, the thing that really keeps it from being just another OP isekai/reincarnation also-ran is that it is fully aware that it is a ridiculous power fantasy and leans into it about 200%, just pure camp fun.
