Valid point. :) This is true of any TV-watcher in any country, but whether we think about it or not, the depiction of any person of a particular ethnic group is typically accompanied by a cultural stereotype. Even, I think, the Japanese in Japanese shows, which is evident when you compare them to characters of other nationalities in the same show.

The cancellation of the Hetalia broadcast is a good point... I'll have to look for a news article on that or something. :D

I find the portrayl of foreigners in anime to be rather amusing.

I mean, just look at Monty Python's Spanish Inquisition in Patlabor, episode 44:
