Isn't that how a lot of indie game devs work?

Changing the interface every couple of weeks?

I downloaded this app yesterday on my PS3. One problem: I have to be a premium member in order to watch anime and K-dramas on the PS3. Yet I have this app on my Android phone and I can watch it on my phone without any restriction. What the hell?? I wanna watch Dong Yi on my PS3 without registering for premium account (I'm watching Dong Yi on my phone now).

P.S. Once again ANN doesn't even acknowledge the Crunchyroll PS3 app with it's own News article. Even Crunchyroll News has unbias reports on competitors ...

ANN has posted Crunchyroll's plans for the PlayStation 3 four times, as far back as last year when they were first revealed, and as recently as last week:

animenewsnetwork.com/convention/2011/otakon/13
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-06-29/crunchyroll-adds-horizon-ii-kokoro-connect-sword-art-online
animenewsnetwork.com/convention/2012/anime-expo/10
animenewsnetwork.com/convention/2012/otakon/2

It's true that ANN puts more emphasis on new anime license announcements than additional platform rollouts.

No, what I meant was releasing the beta out to the public and then constantly updating it.

They already mentioned the app twice; once when it was first announced, and again when it was announced for PS3.

It's true that ANN puts more emphasis on new anime license announcements than additional platform rollouts.

One to two lines in articles that are primarily about something else. Certainly neither "PS3" or "Playstation 3" appear in the headline.

By comparison:
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-06-27/viz-to-launch-24-hour-anime-service-on-major-game-console
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-07-14/viz-neon-alley-to-run-on-playstation-3-console
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-06-29/viz-to-stream-dubbed-blue-exorcist-on-neon-alley

And aside from the three news articles, there is also:
animenewsnetwork.com/convention/2012/anime-expo/6

In the same vein, I notice no mention of Funimation's new tablet app:
http://www.funimation.com/adam-s/blog/funimation-tablet-app-is-now-available/4468011

At least that might be excusable due to no press release apparently being sent in, and it given that it wasn't a new platform (like their upcoming Roku app will be), since they already had a mobile app.

As mentioned above, ANN puts emphasis on new anime titles announcement over additional platform rollouts. That's why none of these Neon Alley articles have the words "PlayStation 3" or 'PS3" in the main headline either. (The third article is a daily brief, and thus does not get its own headline, but an entry in the daily brief roundup.)

The reason and emphasis for three of these Neon Alley articles were new anime title announcements (English dub premieres of Tiger & Bunny, Inuyasha: The Final Act, Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne, Blue Exorcist). That's also why during the same two months that ANN posted these four Neon Alley articles, ANN posted even more Crunchyroll and Funimation articles.

The reason for the Neon Alley daily brief is that Neon Alley didn't just announce an additional platform, but its first platform ever. That's why it received its own brief, but not a full article.

That's the reason — new anime title announcements over additional platform announcements. That is also why every new anime title announcement on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Neon Alley (as opposed to anime that is already available elsewhere) gets its own full article, and not just a daily brief.

I'm just curious, but why didn't the news dept just create two separate articles?

Or does ANN hate Sony as much as everyone else? Wink

In the case of Neon Alley announcing its first platform ever, ANN did create a separate article — albeit, a daily brief, since the focus of the Comic-Con International coverage was on new anime title announcements. In the case of Crunchyroll at Anime Expo, if there was time and manpower to create more than one article, it would have been to split up the 10 new anime titles announced.
