Ever noticed another thing about radio is that some stations will play less commercials, but they take up just as much time or more bragging about their "interruption free" broadcast? Genius I tell you. =P
Nice column this time around. I've been planning on just buying the entire boxset to Comic Party sometime, cause if it's anything like the manga, I want it badly.
And is Demon Lord Dante really that bad? =P

I also hate morning talk shows. Hate them. The point of a music-playing radio station is to listen to music, not an attention-starved man and woman yapping about how many carbs they had for breakfast.

Thanks, I'm really glad you liked it! And as for Demon Lord Dante... I really hate it. Just... watch it if you don't believe me. Maybe you'll love it, who knows. I just think the plot is awful and the characters are worse.

I absolutely loved this week's SL. I thought it was really good!
Painful to see Kenshin as a borrow, but the show did it to itself.

Well, acctually, I've never really been a big fan of evil, demonic shows. Especially when they can't get their damn theology right (Well, granted, I haven't seen it, but anything that claims Judas was more evil than Satan has a few screws loose in their head.) =/

Is everyone seriously going to rebuy Eva again? I really don't care if its better sound or video, its the same show. Maybe if I didn't think Eva was overrated and was in love with Rei (I still don't see how otaku can be so obsessed with her) I could see putting out $100+ to see the same show again.

Well if you haven't seen an ep of Plat, then you wouldn't know how different it really looks/sounds. It may be the same show, but it doesn't look anything like it did on the original release. I would almost go so far as to say it looks like a show that was just released. Granted I'm a bit biased about the show because I do like it, and don't think it's overrated. (Perhaps because I have an understanding of the religious references in the series, and in turn have a better understanding of the series as a whole). In any case, what's wrong with buying a better version of a series that you like? It's better than spending $100 on crappy series ne?

Well, I won't defend this Go Nagai piece, but c'mon, Devil Lady and Cutey Honey are good stuff. Give the Go his props.

"You bought it once on VHS, you bought it again on DVD, you bought it a third time when the director’s cut came out—you WILL buy it again."-Bamboo Dong from Shelf Life 8/23/2004
You see, I did NOT want to buy Eva for a fourth time but, I did. Honestly, I bought it because of the NERV decal inside the box. (Pathetic? Yes, I know) Little did I know (I had a slight idea) how good this Platinum edition would be. Now, I am extremely happy that I reached for that shiny box promising me a decal. (Ugh)
As for your column Bamboo, it just keeps getting better and better. I look forward to reading it every week.

I understand the religious refrences (which I feel are flawed probobly because the team had limited knowlege of Christian mythology) perfectly well and actually liked the original ending somewhat...crap, I started another Eva argument! In any case if I was a huge fan of the series maybe, but to be honest I really don't care about the way it sounds, and even if they edit the visuals the animation still doesn't change.

Thanks for all your kind words, everyone. Thanks very much for reading; it makes me happy.
As for the Platinum release.... I love Eva. I've always loved Eva. When I saw how the new video looked, I was absolutely floored out of my mind. I didn't think a remastered video could be that important to a show, but it sure did make a difference, at least to me.

Gainax only used the religious symbols because they thought that they looked cool. The show really doesen't have a deeper religious meaning...
About the Plat: I am all over this...as soon as I get paid. ^^

I agree that I don't want to get in an Eva argument, so let me clarify my remarks. I know that the religous symbols do not contain a deep religious meaning and that they were inserted to be cool. However if you don't understand the reference then the show becomes much more confusing. The sephirotic tree is shown in the OP and various other places in the series and movies. Without and understand of what it is, you will be very confused. Same for the Inverted Tree of Life in EoE. (and all the other references)
