There's an artist with a stage name of CHAGE (Wikipedia entry) and a birth name of 柴田秀之 = しばた しゅうじ= SHIBATA Shuuji.
ANN has an entry for Shuji SHIBATA and an additional attribute: Birth name: Shuji (秀之) Shibata (柴田). This entry is obviously a merge result of two separate entries for CHAGE and SHIBATA Shuji, giving the contributors the rare opportunity to give credits to and set attributes for both parts separately, especially the kanji names. The kanji names of CHAGE are not set but the kanji given name of SHIBATA Shuji has been set to ... チャゲ = CHAGE. Is this how it should be? Or would it make sense to hide this name and instead set the kanji given name of CHAGE to チャゲ (which I could do) and the kanji given names of SHIBATA Shuji to 柴田 resp. 秀之 (which I can't do as it is blocked by チャゲ)? Well, we can now, but back when this was first entered you couldn't enter kanji/kana information separately for aliases. That's probably the main reason it's listed like that. I've gone ahead changed this to where Shuji Shibata's kanji is family and given name. |
