Viz has recently been putting up character profilers for Tsuna's guardians on their shonen jump site. Since there hasn't been any word on the next volume release, the only other logical assumption is that the series is being added to the magazine. Hopefully this will lead to two things:
1) Viz fixes up some of their translations: While some things are better in their translations(like using the term mafiosi for mafia members), they make consistent errors,and it's hurt volume sales from what I've heard(I have them all expect Volume 16, since I was waiting for news on what would happen). 2) Viz picks up the anime: For better or for worse, Viz has the best experience woth long running series, and their good about getting their shows TV airings. Since Funimation hasn't made a move on the series, Viz is the next best option(though mostly because I want LA voice actors for the dub). |

Sad to hear that.
I'm big fan of Reborn! and so far I have all volumes of it from Viz. In my country we don't have this great title on our manga market and I have to order it from foreign publishers. So I hope, it will be just a temporary indisposition of LLC and Reborn! will return with better translation. Sorry for mistakes if I commit any, but english is not my native language

Sad news indeed.
My situation is pretty much like fireflyze's. The only titles we get here are the popular ones like Naruto, Bleach, Death Note etc and still they are far behind their English counterparts. Anyway, I have preordered the 17th volume and according to the site of my choice there are 3 days to go till publication. I guess things will clear up when the 17th volume is out. I hope things will go fine. |

So there's no Reborn! in december, even in january releases from Viz.
They have really let me down. Guess I have to start thinking about purchasing lacking volumes from german Tokyopop, although I hate that language

I wouldn't do that just yet. Don't know what' going on, but I don't think it's been canceled. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been putting up new articles about it on the Shonen Jump website. And if they did want to cancel it, they probably would have left it at volume 15, instead of 16, which is the first of the new arc. It is pretty annoying. It's bad enough that it comes out pretty slow and is so far behind, so I hope whatever they're going to do with it is worth it. I think they'll be adding more to the online Jump, and if they do, Bleach and Reborn would be likely candidates. And if they do that, I hope they start doing current chapters for both, and do a speedy release of the other volumes. |

For now I will wait till april or so and if Viz still don't clear up what's goin' on I will eventually pass on services of them about that title.
Of course. It's like killing the goose that laid the golden eggs. But maybe I'm wrong, though many fans complained of translation quality. As for me, I don't really care but they could start publishing it again, dammit. Especially that in current chapters we have such action! |

I wonder what Viz plans on doing? Volume 16 came out in July, and Volume 17 isn't solicited from now to July 2011. That's a year without a new volume, and we're 16 volumes behind Japan. I don't want to scream "CANCELED!", but...
