Hello there, I am new here and have been working for some time now on 3D sculptures of the Elric bothers in celebration of the new anime series "Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood". ( I hope I posted at the right place. n-n")

Edward

I came here to get feedback from some fans of the show who could better aid me with critiques and/or encouragin comments. Any ideas and suggestions are also highly appreciated. Hope you like what has been done so far.

Damn good modelling there mate. Only thing I would say is Ed is looking oddly ... nefarious. I know he gets kinda like this but that's a proper arch villains grimace he's got there. Not to criticise or anything Smile I still think the piece looks excellent Smile

There is no way you made that (in my country, it's a compliment for people not to believe you did something). Those are honestly better than some of the official figures out there.

Hot damn I'm impressed. You've got a real talent there. And I think the pose fits Ed perfectly. I look forward to seeing your progress on Al.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting the intent of your post, but Mr. Nekoteo here is "sculpting" these digitally using zBrush. They aren't physical figures you would display on your shelf.

zBrush REALLY does have a very different look to it than other programs. (I've only had experience with Maya.) I was shocked when I saw the images, and they are brilliant works! This may be personal preference, but I would actually lessen or take out completely the texture on Ed's metal arm. From my perspective it makes the metal look unrefined which isn't realistic if you're going to use it to create a prosthetic arm. I really like the texture on the leather glove and his skin. The scars look phenomenal as well. The cloak which would be very difficult to visualize is quite impressive as well, especially when you view it from the different angles you posted on the zbrush forum. The only other thing I can think of is the aliasing in Ed's hair...or maybe that's part of the texture you used for his hair. By they way, Alphonse looks incredible! I didn't find anything that I disliked about your model of him. Excellent job, man, keep up the great work!

No, you got it right. I didn't realize they weren't real figures until two days ago but I was too lazy to edit. They looked like physical things.
