It is not explicitly stated.. but I'm wondering if there is also a blu ray release of BRS with subtitles...
Which would be the best... since Japanese DVDs are region 2 and cant be played on North American region 1 players... However, blu rays are now coded differently and NA/Japan are both in Region A... Meaning I can play the new Miku 39 Concert blu ray on my PS3 woot!! uh.. anyway - here's hoping the Japanese release of BRS has english sub  !

I wonder if there is any story present in the OAV. Black Rock Shooter AFAIK is a song written for and sang by Hatsune Miku. Maybe there is more to it than I know. |

This disc might be coded Region-0 since it is being targeted worldwide. (I didn't really poke for details so it wasn't clear if it is going to be one disc released worldwide or separate regional distributors or what.) Last edited by bayoab on Wed Jul 07, 2010 9:43 am; edited 1 time in total |

So, it might be distributed like Gundam Unicorn? Even though they're adding subtutles I assumed we'd still have to import it. |

There's a story, but I'd expect it to be pretty throwaway. This OVA is character promotion for the sake of selling figures. They picked a hot subject with otaku (ryo/supercell + Hatsune Miku) and are out to exploit it in a rather unconventional way. |

Just know that the shipping on these magazines is big. I got last month's Hobby Japan, and the shipping on it was over 3k yen. Thankfully, I got it from Hobby Search, which has an ongoing 50% off shipping sale. Unfortunately, their pre-orders for the issue with the DVD closed, so you're going to have to pay $40+ for it... Though if $50 is your limit, you should be fine. |
