Oh, now I have Queen stuck in my head. Thanks, man.

15 years from now, I wonder if today's youth will look back on Heroman as fondly as my generation currently looks back at the American cartoons of the 90's.

It goes without saying, but if America doesn't seize this opportunity to see how anime can be such great entertainment, then... yeah...

I, myself, haven't started watching it yet.

I'll say one thing, it hasn't exactly been as "predictable" as of late.

Really? See, through about 7 I was crazy about it, then 8 and 9 really dragged out and it started being, I dunno, too serious for something that silly. If you'd give me minor spoilers to let me know if it picked up in 10 and beyond...?

Heck yeah, Heroman really impressed me. This one can't get licensed soon enough!

I've only watched the first five episodes of Heroman, but it really hasn't lived up to all the hype so far. I know that shows of this kind usually take a while to really get going, but I'm just not feeling it. I'll keep watching for a few more episodes, but I'm really underwhelmed so far.

I agree with garfield15 that the show is really developing well and becoming much less predictable. I'll give some small plot spoilers to give you (and others since I'm going to spoil some of the recent events) an idea of what's been happening:

spoiler[-Joey is beginning to develop more abilities of his own stemming from his controller that he's learning to use both defensively and offensively. It started with his force field, but now he's also picked up super speed and jumping as well.

-At one point Joey gets knocked out and Heroman go into an Eva Unit 01 style berserker rage, launching a brutal assault on the alien leader.

-A Japanese mad scientist and his cronies who have a sort of Tatsunoko feel to them have been introduced. They hold a grudge against Heroman for stopping the aliens before they could in order to win a government contract. They have a robot dump truck with arms.

-Joey and Heroman are currently being investigated by a government agent on orders of the president who thinks they could become a threat.

-The show seems to have discovered fan service including a Joey shower scene (if you're into that sort of thing), the introduction of his (hot) older, punk rocker sister who wears low cut, unbuttoned short-shorts and tank tops, and the next episode features Lina in a bikini (and hopefully the end of her stupid cheerleader outfit)]

There has been a lot happening in the series and it seems to be evolving very nicely. Personally I like that it has had some serious moments, I think it's a good move for a superhero title. It has its slow moments, but I never find it boring.

So far, the most interesting developments in the show have absolutely nothing to do with Heroman or action. I'm excited for that upcoming date.

Emerje: every single spoiler you said, is TOTALLY predictable, right down to the scientist rivals with the ultra corny robot.

The Dr Minami thing was predictable from the moment he got introduced. I even posted in the anime section that he was going to do a 180 when I first saw that episode.

Heroman is straightforward to a fault.

Heroman looks like a lot of fun. I keep meaning to watch it but just haven't got around to it yet. Plus I hate watching TV on my little 10in netbook. I gotta get a better setup

@Emerje

About half the twists you cited happened in 8-9 and account for a lot of the fun-draining that happened in those chapters. I'm all for spoiler[Joey getting more powers, a typical feature of super-robot fare], but spoiler[the Evangelion-style Berserker rage felt totally] out of place in a series that had been so upbeat and charming before.

While the introduction of a new, spunky character sounds like it could infuse some fun back in, the introduction of any fan service into a series that would best be marketed as kids in America if it gets licensed is potentially a very bad idea that could scuttle its chances of coming State-side. I mean, I might give it one more episode, but I've just got a lot of other stuff to watch at this point too.

Heroman is the most boring and draggy kids' show I've ever seen; a bunch of non-characters without a hint of genuine emotion, energy or charisma fight some stupidly uninvolved alien invaders in badly directed and really dull action sequences. Someone needs to wake Bones' up and tell them that this is what happens when you put together an unproven newbie director and a proven terrible writer.

I hope this show gets licensed and dubbed. I saw the first episode of it, and it seemed pretty neat, but it also seemed like something I'd prefer to watch in English. The whole taking place in America thing.

I enjoy the series for the most part but I've become aware that this series to me needs to be done in chunks. The plotting is decent and the cliffhangers aren't bad but they don't nesscary have me all riled up for next week. I've watched up to episode 9 and decided this is as good a point as any to switch from a weekly viewing to a monthly viewing or every couple episodes or until the series is done and I'll marathon it style. But that's just me. Nothing off about the series to me but for some reason it doesn't click for me. I love it, but just not clicking for whatever reason. Maybe he needs more powers or Heroman needs to talk. Don't know.

But yeah, maybe I need a dub too. Although I do love the subtitles. So pretty in their blue. Oh, maybe its the translations. I'll have try watching it without them some day.
