The James Franco bit on 30 Rock was outrageously funny. The American Idol thing, not so much.

James Franco's stint on 30 Rock was easily the best showcase of anime culture of the week, hands down. I mean come on, "Kimiko-tan"? That was so outrageous you couldn't help but laugh.

She just chose the wrong song to impress them. She should've gone for something a little more fun.

Otaku girl just might have set Anime fan culture back 10 years. Her portrayal of Anime fans was just horrible.
No, She could not sing. There was no song she could have sung to "Catch the judges eye". She should have conceded defeat graciously, and thanked them for the opportunity. I only saw the first part of the Franco bit, and thought it was funny. I would like to see Archer, it looks good, but alas, no cable. |

o.o wow, the AI thing is pretty slow to this forum. I was talking about it sometime last week.
I saw this and facepalmed. A lot. I think she wasn't a terrible singer, however, I think her dream to become a singer in Japan tends to be a bit far-fetched. I dunno. I don't even think I would want to audition for American Idol. I also thought the judges were pretty harsh, but that is reality. People are going to do that to you. You're going to have to prove them wrong if you want to continue by being diligent... *shrugs* Some people didn't win American Idol, but they became great singers regardless, right? I'm not going to say that I'm proud of an Otaku stepping on AI when she didn't even know the true definition of that word. -_-;; Btw...I hate that show with a passion. |

I'm someone who watches scrubs and I laughed really hard at the hentai joke. I wasn't sure if ANN would mention it. I'm gald they did.

Watched 30 Rock when it aired. It was really funny in the beginning, but I think it got less true as the episode went through.
I just watched the Scrubs clip, and write after she says the anime porn thing the guy says "Panther Claw, the walrus has landed." Could that be a reference to Cutey Honey? |

I brought up the Scrubs thing
I haven't even watched the new season (really don't want to seeing as the show's gone downhill) , my brothers told me about it earlier in the week, thought it was worth saying |

I don't buy she had a hentai binge. She watches the live-action porn at best.

James Francos' brother Dave is helping make Scrubs worthwhile. He has the potential to become the new Todd.

Wasn't there some dude in Sweden that was running around with a hug pillow? Like, for reals?

I just noticed that girl from Idol has the same hair/color style I have in ff.net account pic. I don't want to sound paranoid but's kind of freaking me out.
