That's great news for a little toy company in Missouri. I saw some news report on them, and they had something like 10 employees, and hooked up with a factory in china to produce them originally.

I bet there's going to be a lot of planning for this one... I mean it will be about little hamsters right? They better not have big adventures... Because there's already an anime about that...

Hamtaro and Echibo if I remember correctly. As long as hamster isn't named a alreadly registered trademark name (i.e. Hamtaro, and so on) there should be no legal headache.

At least for last year and maybe this year, Zhu Zhu Pets will be popular. But so was Furby and many other toys. I'll be slightly surprized if Zhu Zhu Pets is still popular next year and the year after that.

well, this will probably sell well in Japan and you can bet they'll get it adapted for US TV, and if successful it will extend the toyline life.

I thought there was already a Hamtaro? And they were free to do what they liked, not confined to some hamster maze with their only means of possible excape being a car.

Finally a idea with potential. God, I hope this becomes the next Fullmetal Alchemist.

....

They're not going to mention the potential toy hazard, I'm sure. =P

Anyway, I pretty much prefer Hamtaro over this.

Agreed, it wasn't the numerous fetish focused animes or moeblob festivals we've gotten lately...

No, this is the line crosser. Anime hyper

And yes, Hamtaro will be ten times superior to whatever this show will be. It may have been fluff but it was an enjoyable fluff...

I used to watch that show... Did so from the beginning until about 3 or 4 years after... I.E. when it ended.

Anyone else remember the GBA games too? Those we're 'kinda' good top down adventure games loaded with fun little minigames...

Then they just became edutainment and lost their... well, entertainment value.

The fact that there's new DragonBall, InuYasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Beyblade, potentially Digimon on tv, and new Medabots, and Monster Rancher video games on the way didn't clue you in?

Well there's no news yet of just WHO is the one animating the show...

If it's someone like Toei, then really, it's not that desperate when you think about it. They've done a bunch of tie ins, it wouldn't shock me if they were doing the Zhu Zhu tie in too.
