The Seto coast eh? That's becoming quite a popular setting for anime. Kamichu and Ponyo also take place on the northern coast of the Seto sea. Not a bad choice for a healing-type anime Smile

Third "healing anime" from Junichi Sato after Aria, Umi Monogatari

Umi Monogatari is a typical magical girl anime, not a "healing anime".

Not sure why people keep making that mistake. I noticed this when UmiMono started as well. They were expecting another Aria or Kaleido Star and were disappointed when it turned out to be a magical girl anime. Rolling Eyes

The "people" in question include Megami Magazine. One would be hard pressed to explain why Megami Magazine can call Tamayura the third "healing anime" from Junichi Sato after Aria and Umi Monogatari if Umi Monogatari isn't a "healing anime."

I think they call it a "healing" anime because it involves water and maybe it's not a typical "fight the enemy with fancy wancy weapons and kill them and make a big deus ex machina out of it" and supposedly having a calming atmosphere. I liked Princess Tutu and Umi Monogatari (despite some minor things that I disliked), and I wonder if Tamayura will be a good one? I'm interested in watching Strange Dawn (Sato Junichi directed that too, and it's NOT cliche according to the person in charge of Star Crossed Anime Blog), but I can't find English subbed episodes.

This will be something to look forward to - aside from Pretear, I've liked everything I've seen from Junich Sato.
More anime like Aria is a wonderful thing - that show is so relaxing, and President Aria is so freaking adorable. Although I have to say, it took me about 8 months to watch the first season. It was one of those shows where I would just randomly watch episodes when I felt like it.

Reason I enjoyed UmiMono the most was the hot Marin. Though it is one of those overused moe shows, it was rather interesting to keep hearing Marin saying "aishiteru" in the unromantic sense.
