This topic is about the evilest of the evil in the manga universe. Often, a good villian can be almost as popular as a hero, or in some cases more popular. They can really liven up a manga that lacks in story. So who is the best villian? I give it not to someone who has a grand sceme to destroy the world, or a bad guy who turns good (those dont count, so nobody post any of them wannabes) I give it to Shira from Blade of the Immortal.
He is the most sick and twisted psycopath I've ever seen. The things he does are horrible, and yet his character is so over the top that its enjoyable watching the evil sociopath have "fun". For those who dont read Blade, here is a description of Shira (contains minor spoilers and is very graphic):
spoiler[A large swordsman with crazy eyes, Shira's only pleasure in life is the suffering of others. He doesnt have any ambitions other than murder, rape, and murder while raping. His sword has saw teeth on its back so it causes maximum pain. Rather than just killing his opponents, he prefers to saw their limbs off as he laughs like a nutcase. He gets off by torturing hookers, and tricking a girl into eating her dog. After the hero Manji cuts off his arm, he loses any bit of sanity he has and goes on a mad quest for vengance. So that he will have another weapon, he cuts the flesh off his arm stump and sharpens his bones! If thats not a scary guy, i dont know what is.]
Whew! that was longer than i meant! Anyone else care to share the evilest villian with us?

I don't know of any villains that really compare, that's pretty evil, but probably the worst in my manga would be Kharl the alchemist from Dragon Knights. I know a lot of you wouldn't agree but
spoiler[He makes it a habit to turn faeries and humans into demons, and he basically supplies the demon lord with demons. His left bird died (which sculps the brains of the demons) and so he killed more faeries to make a replacement]

he's actually not the true evil guy of the series, but I just like him more and plus, so far he seems more evil, although it really doesn't compare with the other villain written in here, but I thought to add something, so here it is.

I hate to be a fanboy here, but Orochimaru is obeying the Sherlock Homes principle, and that makes the villain so much better. I've been reading J. Shonen jump with scripts, so I gotta go spoiler mode to discuss him freely which goes thru volume 24 spoiler[Basically, Orochimaru is taken from the Tales of the Gallant Jiraiya along with Jiraiya and Tsunade, in which each is an expert of a different form of animal magic. Orochimaru's is Snake, Jiraiya's is toad, Tsunade's is slug. In that story Orochimaru betrays the lovers Jiraiya and Tsunade from his position of trust and defeats them with a venom, but before he kills them, an apprentice of Jiraiya rescues them. Much a parallel to the Search/Rasegean arc of Naruto. The Naruto version has him be an evil body stealer who is the Leaf's brightest son gone wrong. The parallels are farther for him and Sasuke, along with the Senin parallels with team 7. Sasuke was once the most promising of Leaf's Genin, but now with Naruto coming into his own Sasuke feels inadequate and is defecting to Sound. We know Orochi was the bright star of Leaf, but he is later overshadowed by the 4th, resentful he starts on his immortality work. He is later caught and forced to flee leaf to start Sound as his own village. The desire he has to be the strongest can not be meet in his own lifetime, or body. He is afraid of Itachi, because Itachi can beat him. Sasuke's hate toward his brother is being used by Orochi so that Orochi can get a new body with the bloodline Sharigan. He knows that Sasuke might even be fine with it, so long as Itachi is killed. All in all the plot surrounding Orochi is what makes him so interesting. That and the whole spitting up snakes thing.]

For me it's either Shishio Makoto because he looks like a friggin' mummy and other obvious reasons if you've ever read the manga, and that Time Keeper guy from King of Bandit Jing, as hespoiler[ took a Kir Royale head on and was unfased by it]

Actually, if you want a sadistic warped villian in a series, look no further than Masao Kirishima from MARS.

This is a character who revels in the dark and violent side of not only his personality, but that of the troubled main character Rei Kashino. He goes out of his way to set Rei off, to toy with Rei's emotions so that Rei lashes out. He even goes as far as to spoiler[try to kill Kira] since he sees her as a grounding force to Rei, someone holding him back from being an animalistic destructive force.

Really, Masao is a very sinister character when you get right down to it.

I have to go with Orochimaru for the momment, though in terms of evil nature Itachi from Naruto has Orochimaru beat.

I'm not so sure about Itachi being the "most evil" just yet. We don't exactly know his true intentions or what he seeks to accomplish, and the latest chapter of the manga spoiler[shows him as quite the overwhelming nice guy.] Perhaps he's just got a rough way of doing things, but all for a better goal. Maybe the Uchiha Clan was somehow corrupt. We don't quite know yet, while we're well aware of Orochimaru's goals. And there's not much in the way of honourable motivation behind Mr. Snake there.

Itachi's still very much a mystery. An ominous mystery, but a mystery nonetheless.

You make a very good point, but I guess what I was saying is....from what we've seen of Itachi I find him a much cooler villian than Orochimaru.

If that makes sense?

As far as Villians go, I usually dont see them as evil people, but simply fighting for what they believe in. However there's a few crazies out there like

Udo Jin-E spoiler[ He is a villian in Rurouni Kenshin and his taste for blood became so great that he switched sides during the bakumatsu simply to kill more, and after the bakumatsu he just went around killing government officials. He's quite insane.]

I actually think Saito makes a better villian throughout Kenshin. Sure he doesn't really act as a villian throught he has that evil spark hidden within him.

I only read one manga which "Adolf". In my opinion the main chracter Adolf Kaffuman was not really a good guy. spoiler[He reap his best's friends fiance. He was a former nazi. He almost kills his septfather and his best friend. then starts hurting a young lady.
And in the end he kills his ally to get revenge.]
And he was actually the main chracter.

Bah. "Little Brother" is by far the greatest Villain in Kenshin. Still, Orochi is more my favorite. Pure powerlust with no morales and power overwhelming. Itachi might just get less evil after the next few issues of Japanese Shounen Jump, but Orochi's treason is due to his evil.

I quite agree. Masao Kirishima is rather..."black" for a lack of better words. But I have to say that Pan from Island is a little more crazed than Masao. But right now, probably the best villian is Fuma, or The Dragon of Earth's Kamui. If you read it, you know why....

And I do have to say, that it was rather...::coughcough:: of Kharl from Dragon Knights is rather evil.

I gues I can't really decide on the best villian...but right now it's Fuma. ^^
