I wonder if they plan to get Cagliostro on BD. BTW, is the original GITS on BD, too, or just DVD?

The "original original" GitS came out on BD in Japan a few years ago. It includes both English subtitles and audio. As far as I know, Manga has yet to release a BD of it in the states though.

Article oops: wrong link on Ghost In The Shell 2.0. It should point to the movie, not the manga.

"Okay guys: We don't actually have anything new but remember this cool stuff from way back when we actually did?" Oh well, it's probably a fairly smart plan in the current situation.

yes...does Manga Entertainment actually...PRODUCE anything, anymore?
I'm shocked they had a panel. Yes, they got a blu ray for Ghost in the Shell....what NOW?! They can only re-release existing stuff, and.....after they got bought out by Sony in 2006ish, Sony doesn't really care about expanding into the USA market so they let MOST of Manga Entertainment's titles WITHER ON THE VINE. I.e. they let the rights to "End of Evangelion" expire.
Yes, a Blu Ray of Ghost in the Shell may sell well this fall/Christmas season, but what THEN?! What in 2010?

When did any North America anime distributor actually "produce" anime again?

Ya know, I thought it was odd that the Anchor Bay logo was on the tactics disks... Still, you would think with more backup (even thought AB releases more obscure stuff, Sony is backing it up, right?) that they would do... a bit more :/
Feels like yesterday the ONLY anime I could find in a rental store was Manga titles...

MANGA could've at least talked about their deal with SyFy, since it's the only thing of note they've done in the past couple years. Give us some info on that, some insight into SyFy's deal. Maybe tell us why SyFy insists on 3 commercial breaks for every 30 minute show, at the expense of cutting important plot to fit more commercials.

I don't recall ever hearing that
I know Manga got bought by anchor bay and then anchor bay got bought by Liberty which I think Sony has a minority share in and they also own the GSN network with Sony but never heard of them them owning/buying A.B
anyway they need to license something new I think Bakemonogatari would be a good choice for them

I wonder if Manga still owns the rights to The End of Evangelion. If they do, maybe they could do a half-decent release for it since they've got so much time on their hands. Just a thought.
