My initial assumption would be that this 'dangerous' content would primarily involve the notably endowed young woman, the leftmost character in the article's image. However, my current guess is that certain depictions of a character with less of a 'stature' - one who may appear a little... unripe - may instead be the cause.

Just the picture can be deemed "too dangerous" for TV. No offense to the Japanese but this seems like hypocrisy. It didn't stop them from a TV broadcast of Kodomo No Jikan (which I am glad didn't get released here officially).

I guess they just wanted to make this series a discussion topic and they needed content for the DVD release to make it worth buying for ecchi fans.

Is it just me or is it becoming a trend to make an episode too risque for television?
Excuse to sell DVDs/Promote the series overall, I'm assuming... "Hey, did you hear that that new show isn't going to air all the episodes?" "Really? Why?" "It's 'too dangerous' for TV!" "Whoah, I should check it out."

I was thinking the exact same thing. The ones who at least appear to be underage seem to be the hot button issue lately.

It's probably for the best. I think I can feel brain damage setting in just from looking at the promo art.

that just tells me you didn't even read it. the TV edit was fine for anyone of the proper age to watch.

When they say its too dangerous for TV, that meant that the STORYLINE contains content which is considered radical or dangerous to the viewer's mental health, so they wont air it. i.e., usually stuff like suicides, poison gas attacks, random knife murders, making fun of the janitors in buildings, showing a real movie star or politician in an unfavorable light, etc.

Well, yeah, exactly. The way it's worded is rather disingenuous -- they probably wouldn't have aired 14 episodes anyway, because it's a 13-episode timeslot. It's also not as if they couldn't have made the episode work for TV if they wanted to either (it's not as if they "just found out"... like "oops, oh crap, that went too far..."), but that isn't the point. The episode probably hasn't even been animated yet, so it's not as if they passed it by the "TV Execs" who said no...
The trend of having a ero-centric OVA episode for a show isn't really new, but they just keep finding new ways of spinning it. This is just PR. And look, it worked -- it hit the news sites and we're all talking about it!

No, it's just another non-clever ruse to force otaku to buy DVDs and was probably planned like this from the very inception of the show. Not news.

My thoughts exactly. I mean Japanese television can show anything. Ultra violence, extreme nudity, Koi Kaze and so on. This is just one of the marketing moves we see recently. In other series they back out panty shots or nudity, practicaly sreaming "buy our dvd's".

I think the next logical step is to air 1 episode of a show and then declare the rest to be TOO HOT FOR TV, SUPER LIMITED EDITION DVD EXCLUSIVE, BUT IN ORDER TO GET EVEN MORE EXCLUSIVE, BUY THE BLURAY.
That's where this is heading, while the DVD and BD episodes don't look any better than the TV series, so you know no extra time was taken in making them.
