Your reading comprehension and education lost. First film is a recap that seems to be putting a slight spin on things and the second film is a new story. |
Let's just say I have absolutely zero faith in the anime industry to really give us actual complete movies with all new animation that aren't recapping anything in any form whatsoever. Recap films are all fine and dandy if you have the chance to see in it theaters, but otherwise, why bother with them after that? Maybe I'm just biased because I want to expect another DYRL, but I realize it's impossible. At least we can pray Klan-Klan will be the focus of these movies, macronized form only.

A new story? Now that gets me excited.
I don't know about you guys, but the only new story I am interested in involves putting an end to the love triangle and Sheryl ending up together with Alto. I swear the way the final episode ended on the TV series irked me no end.
The entire TV series kept dropping hints of character development - Alto is indecisive about himself, about his future, and about who he loves more. And there has been things that just kept reminding him "Hey, you know, if you are a real man, you should make up your mind before it's too late" - Ozma told him that, Michael hold him with his death, etc. etc. And what does he do at the end? Nothing. All the episodes and plot elements spent, hinting about his eventual character development, amounted to nothing. Alto at episode 25 is not that much different than episode 1. Let's hope the sequel movies changes that a bit.[/spoiler]

Alright! I'm looking forward to this second one. I'm not too into recap films that reuse footage with some new stuff thrown in...
At least Eva 1.0 had all new animation...

But... Didn't Alto already pretty much choose Sheryl, and the series just ends with the other girl just adamant that she isn't going to give up just yet...?

I liked that they never resolved the love triangle in Macross Frontier. I don't want to know who Alto ends up with, it's more fun to imagine either way who he ends up with. It's like the Tenchi Muyo! franchise. But, like the Tenchi franchise, if they continue to do more of this and don't resolve it, it will end up ridiculous.

As far as I'm concerned so far, I think the first movie is going to be nothing more than a troll given the planned title and the second movie will be more serious.

At this point I don't think a lot of people cares if it's filler material in that regard as long as they give some closure to the triangle which was the main focus of the damn show. |
That is what filler episode means. Nothing will be changed/touched. Status Quo as in the end of the main series remains. Therefore, no change/closure in the love triangle. That's what a filler is and that's what I've meant.
Imo (again), it doesn't make very much sense when they've built up a complex relationship like a triangle within 25 episodes, to just throw the whole concept over with one single movie year(s) later. This adds to my theory that the second movie is gonna be a filler. Again, just speculation on my side.

I don't really care about the love triangle. I want to know how hunams and vajra end up living together.

An actual sequel sound good but I really hope they don't use it to resolve the love triangle.
