Darkside Blues was always in my "To Watch" list, but I just never got around to it. Now that it has a new home, perhaps I will finally get around to it.
This gives me a bit more hope for Descendants of Darkness (though Manga has the digital and TV rights) and Lodoss War. Come on ADV....

I'm just surprised to hear ADV doing something. At their panel at Anime Boston, they had no announcements or clips of any kind. Personally, I'm just waiting to see next week "Funimation adds former ADV, CPM title Darkside Blues".

Darkside Blues is alright but there are better CPM titles out there to pick up, like Utena. Someone should really do that.

They've actually been doing quite a bit, especially compared to rest of R1 (save perhaps Funimation). The got several new shows for their network, rescued several Geneon and CPM titles, launched a new online player, and even released 3 new shows this year. That's more than we've got from Bandai and Media Blasters this year. I don't think we've had a new announcement from Bandai since the Lucky Star OVA, and that has been drowned out by the outrage over the lack of a dub.

I think that they've gotten "Grave of the Fireflies" is definitely the best news I've heard regarding ADV since they lost all their Sojitz titles. If they can put out a great DVD release (and hopefully a Blu-Ray release, as well) I think there will be hope for them crawling back into game. "Grave" has been a staple at anime showings and film festivals for a while.
Good luck ADV! Keep on fighting!

Don't really know why they wasted their money on this title. It was pretty forgetable. They should have gotten Armored Trooper Votoms instead.

They may have. It starting to seem that they aquired most, if not the entirety, of CPM's library before they filed for bankruptcy. I wouldn't be surprised to see it get announced in the fall sometime. The big question is what titles did CPM actually have left that ADV could have grabbed. Not to mention, which titles CPM had lost but ADV would be willing to go after from the original owners.

This makes me excited, though I'm not entirely sure why.
Though I haven't seen it yet, just seeing the title pleases me...

Agreed. Keep on the tencious grip and keep on fighting. I am still excited that ADV re-acquired the rights to World Of Narue.

CPM's license for Utena ran out a few years ago, so ADV (aka Sentai) cannot buy it from them.
They would have to license it from the Japanese, and it is unlikely that they have the money for that, especially since it was recently remastered.
