I second that! If Funimation is significantly impacted by the recession or goes down the tubes, anime in America is in serious trouble. Not that I expect it but hey. You can be sure I'll buy a lot of their boxsets. Really looking forward to Kaze no Stigma. Razz

Also, I'm still hoping ADV will manage to recover soon.

I'm kind of surprised by the demand for the original VAs for Eva. I'm a person that really likes dubs, and I'm not even very picky, but I never thought Eva to be one of the better ones. Hopefully their poor performance can just be chalked up to "the old days" when voice direction sucked and they'll do better under Mike McFarland, who seems to be a fine director from the dubs I've heard him do. (Not to mention, I've heard Spike Spencer recently and he's miles above what he was as Shinji. Hmm.)

So much good news makes me so happy. I'm really looking forward to watching Spice and Wolf and getting my hands on some Sgt. Keroro.

If I'm not mistaken they've been doing that for Shikabane Hime, and possibly one or two other shows that I can't think of at the moment. Smile

Well I am probably going to buy Eva 1.0 (not really new news though, since Funimation licensed it last year.) But besides that, there isn't anything too exciting that they announced.

Eventually Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood will be licensed, but until then I will wait for a English cast before watching the show.

But as I expected, absolutely no news of Funimation completely Hare and Guu, once and for all. Come on Funimation, you licensed a show with a talking frog, at least finish Hare and Guu.

Can you really be reading this site without knowing this?! FMA: Brotherhood IS already licensed for web distribution, and new episodes of it currently appears first on Funimation's website, then on YouTube and Hulu a couple of weeks later. You'd be correct that a dub cast would be announced before it appears on DVD though.

Not according to the quote you quote, since Righstuf is a retailer not a streaming site.

well it would be interesting to hear this dub version of Eva 1.0

Looking forward to it and to Spice & Wolf.

Was really disapinting that there's no plans to have one piece return to TV or FMA:Brotherhood. Hopefully when the dub versions are announced,it might be possible.

After 4kids completely ruined One Piece and Cartoon Network eliminated 90% of its anime, I highly doubt One Piece fans will ever see One Piece on television ever again.

As for for Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I would really like to watch the show via television, but Adult Swim is struggling as well. But its not Full Metal Alchemist without Vic Mignogna, so until there is a English audio, I'll be waiting.

I never said anything about streaming... I said "online-only releases" not "streaming-only releases". You know, like how iaTV teamed with TRSI to sell those TMS Anime Classics (only not with burned discs)? You know: Online-only? I never indicated streaming, so the quote I quote was perfectly fine. There is no hidden meaning in what I said; if I mean streaming, then I'll say streaming.

I was asking if it meant that FUNi might offer some DVD releases only through online stores like TRSI, RACS, AnimeNation, etc. for shows that are more niche. I want actual, physical DVDs... Streaming is fine, but only if there are DVDs to accompany them.
