It's kind of incredible how DBZ is scoring so high even though its just a compressed rerun.

Annnnnnnnnnnd Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood fails to make it in its 3rd week. HOWEVER, considering #10 was a 5.3, it could have done just as good or not much worse than the last episode and still just barely missed the list!

It makes me happy to see One Piece ahead of Kai this week.

Well, Dragon Ball will probably take it back when the series' story picks up more.
Looks like around 500.000 Dragon Ball viewers broke away from watching that week. This is probably due to, as I stated, the story's slowing points yet to reach higher points again, where as One Piece boasts new episodes for that week.
Dragon Ball would always perform well on television, its reruns in America, I recall still had the highest ratings for its demographic then. Ha, this was even poked fun at by Porky Pig in Duck Dodgers, with a comment about crowds of people disappearing in a scene, with: "They went home to watch a rerun of Dragonball."

Of course, It's been 20 years since its original airing in Japan. Givin' how mainstream it is, I'm not really surprised. Not to mention it has new BGM, voice over recordings, color corrections, redrawn cels, etc., You also have to keep in mind it runs the same hour as One Piece (another huge mainstream), so its bound to attract that new generation of Shonen Jump fans that watches One Piece and make new fans out of them. I view DB Kai as much like the Gundam Movie Trilogy, a compressed remastered version of a classic without having to put in all the time for the actual series.
I'm surprised that Naruto Shippuden got some decent ratings. I'm glad and hopefully they'll start getting back to the main storyline. I can't wait to see the Sasuke and Itachi arc animated. It was a great read in the manga.
