Holy hell in a hand-basket! This is stellar!
I'm not much of a Live Action fan myself, but I love Solanin so much I just have to check this out!!

Huh. I've been thinking about the possibility of Solanin being adapted to film, be it anime or live-action. I'd even thought about attempting to write a screenplay just for fun. How weird is that?
Still, Solanin would work better as an anime film. Otherwise Asano's wonderful artwork is lost. Not to say I won't be checking out this live-action film, though. Solanin is one of my all-time favorite manga, and seeing it adapted to film is something I've been wanting to see, regardless of medium.

Yay! This should be pretty cool. I hope they make "Solanin" a good song.

Awesome.
I read Solanin right about when it came out and was blown away. It lends itself perfectly to a live action film. I can't wait to see it.

I'm just wondering when Terry Zwigoff's gonna get the remake rights.

Just noticed this:
Quote: | Kengo Kora will play her boyfriend Shigeo |
Unless the film is doing some name changing, Meiko's boyfriend's name is Naruo, not Shigeo.

Awesome news. But like some others, I'm still hoping for an animated adaptation. Nothing says we can't have both. Maybe if I wish strongly enough, this can become Mamoru Hosoda's post-Summer Wars project.

Yes! Something good to look forward to! I've seen Aoi Miyazaki in Nana, Heavenly Forest and Virgin Snow; I think she'll be great in this role.

NO WAY~!!!!
I was just re-reading Solanin last night and was thinking how great it would be as a live-action. I'm so glad they chose Aoi Miyazaki. So happy. <3333333

Exactly. Hopefully the live-action film can spark interest in a possible animated version. Mamoru Hosada is one of my dream directors for a Solanin anime film. The other is Kenichi Kasai.

Solanin, the manga, is superb! It'll translate well into a film and with the right actors I think it'll be a hit!

My sentiments exactly. Hadn't thought about that, but it makes perfect sense.
We must send positive waves their way and fulfill this wish! (we can do it!!)
