Wow! It took 'em 16 months to arrest her? Seems rather slow for the Japanese police, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since it took 'em 6 years to catch Kira!
I guess it might take that long to narrow down the list of possible suspects or something.

I may not like OP, but I wouldn't take my antipathy towards it this far.

Well, I'm glad that it's now better than never or too late. That would have really sucked for the One Piece nation.

I wonder what that lady was thinking, did she think that was going to help her husband ? Now he is probably never going to get a job anywhere, heh.

"It says here on your resume that your wife threatened the creator of One Piece. I see. And how much has your artwork improved since?"
You never hear these kinds of stories over Stretch Armstrong.

That is sick and I mean truly sick. Did she think that doing that would get her husband's job back? Now she'll never be able to find work for a long time.
People are just fired for the heck of it, I really wish more people would understand that. I love reading One Piece each week and enjoy watching the unedited, uncut anime version from Funimation.

To be honest, I could never get into it. It's the art, it feels so toony. And the story never really grabbed me.
Of course, the exact opposite can be said about Vampire Knight. And I can't get into that either.

Some people have the mentality that everyone deserves a job and that it's evil to fire someone, even if they are a full-blown incompetent. Plus legally you can't just fire some people without extremely good reasons due to labor laws. (At least we have laws like that in parts of the U.S., don't actually know for sure about Japan.)
Meh, I'm sure the messages were threatening and that Oda likely was suffering a bit due to it but it doesn't sound like she ever really got past the level of an Internet troll. I'll bet the sheer volume of the messages was the real irritation rather than fear of a loony coming to kill him. Crazy woman clearly isn't all that bright if "die, die" is her best.
Kinda shocked it took so long to catch her though. Did the police just want to get that much evidence or are cellphone messages just that hard to trace back?

And here I thought maybe it was a fujoshi decrying the lack of Sanji x Zoro in canon.
Boo. This is less interesting.

How stupid. You lose jobs in this world. Get over it.
Must have been really annoying for Oda, though.

I'm a huge One Piece fan, and I mean huge. I'm really glad it didn't go beyond anything but stupid text threats... After all he's guy who's so creative that you can't see his next move... You think he's going to do one thing with the his story but then he does another.

Ha! I was thinking she was threatening him over the anime itself (reading title alone).
Some people.
I wonder if a studio will turn news this into a series.

This is almost as bad as the "Butt Bandit", this guy who mooned store windows and rubbed his butt on them in Minnesota or somewhere! No wait, it's much worse!

It's rather due to the group mind mentality in the Japanese society, that the Japanese polices don't treat personal threats as serious as national crimes. Because generally speaking, the Japanese people don't have a well sense of individuality. Their idea of being responsible is only to uphold the bare minimum of what the Japanese society expecting from them individually, yet they hardly thought about venturing beyond that concept by taking responsibility for themselves and their own actions.
