After reading many of Watsuki's liner notes in RK, I want to learn more of the Shinsengumi. THEY ROCK!!!
![]() Is there any manga that truly features them and their aspects? And If not, can some atleast suggest a good book? thanks. |

I don't know how accurate it is, but the manga Shinsengumi Immon Peace Maker, focuses on it some.

There are actually quite a number of manga based on Shinsengumi but I couldn't find much info about them other than Kaze Hikaru and Burai. Also Shinsengumi Imon Peacemaker and its sequel Peace Maker Kurogane are based on them too, although, as littlegreenwolf stated, I'm not entirely sure how accurate they are.

I've studied the many ways of the shinsengumi, I even have their original articles printed out. Saitou hajime turned out to be a real person to be my surprise, and has I living relative. I believe it's his grandson at age 58 or 68 can't remember. But I have many of the articles on Shinsengumi and I also study the Japanese eras from the begining of the tokugawa era to the end of the mejii restoration. And of course a little more afterwards. If you have any questions or you just want to learn I'll be happy to teach you. My Email address is: [email protected]. I can relay you documents and teachings from the shinsengumi and also a copy of their articles/rules. I can also teach you what I know on them ![]() |

The only books on the Shinsengumi I've seen are in Japanese. My favorite Shinsengumi website is here, which seems to be one of the most accurate Shinsengumi sources online.
PMK has its accurate points but if you're looking for only factual information, I'd suggest learning Japanese and reading the books yourself. Or wade through the hundreds of thousands of RK websites you'll run across when searching for info on google ^^;. |

I believe Peace Maker Kurogane is failry accurate. The young member...his name started with an "O" and he spoiler[had tuburculosis] was a real person as well.
I'm sure any google search would turn up some results. |
