I read a few weeks back that the Detective Conan and Lupin III series would be crossing over in a movie this year. I'm a big fan of franchises crossing over, whether it be a game like Kingdom Hearts or a movie like The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones. I was wondering which ongoing series you would like to see crossover. For me, personally, I would like to see Naruto crossover with Pucca. I know Pucca isn't an anime series, but both shows showcase ninjas, comedy, big fight scenes and interesting characters. I don't know, I just thought it'd be cool to see the title characters either team-up or fight each other. Which series would you choose? And please, feel free to make fun of my chose below.

My main exposure to Detective Conan was the Case Closed series and I honestly can't quite wrap my mind around Lupin and Conan crossing paths. It is just weird, like watching the trailer of a high profile movie you believe in your gut is destined to fail.

Geeeeh... I haaate crossovers. I really do. I think they are pointless and only cheapen both franchises that get involved.
The idea is cool, but Iv yet to see somone do it well.

They're both immensely popular characters in Japan, and their chosen professions make them natural polar opposites to one another. I'm a bit surprised that the idea hasn't been raised before now, to be honest.

It would be interesting to see how they would work out a storyline with Conan and Lupin together. considering they would have to have both succeed in the movie. which would be somewhat tricky to pull off.

You know what would be a badass crossover? If Yujiro Hanma, from baki the grappler, decided that everyone in his own universe is too weak so he looks for strongest fighters in the univese and ends up in Naruto's universe and kicks all their asses with ease.

Not necessarily. My only real experience with Lupin is having watched a sizable chunk of the Red Jacket series, but even there, I can think of several occasions when Lupin & Co. didn't manage to pull off their caper. I'm sure that Conan can't lock up every criminal he comes across, either.

I find crossovers only work well if either the characters seem like they would be from the same "world" (such as the Conan/Lupin crossover) or a complete re-write (like Kingdom Hearts or the DBZ/One Piece manga one-shot). Something like BerserkxClaymore would be quite epic in scale, the sword fights alone would be awe inspiring. How about a Kure-nai/Nabari no Ou crossover where Yayoi introduces Shinkuro to the ninja world? Personally I've always wanted to know what would happen if the worlds of Macross and Gundam united, nothing bad I would think.

I am also interested in what would happen in a Macross/Gundam crossover........ Anyway, lets hope Lupin's comedy act blends well with Conan.......

I love the idea of the Detective Conan and Lupin cross over. I really like both series and I think it could work well. I couldn't really see any other cross overs actually working out. I think that the only reason that this idea would work out is because of how big of a cultural thing Conan and Lupin are over in Japan.

Some of the anime that were serialized in Shonen Jump as manga I think would/could make great crossovers.
