I am inspired by the political scenario behind Frank Herbert's “Dune”, for example. I'm checking out the books because I've only seen the film & TV adaptations. It's research time for the moment.

The book is much better than either. But film for the win.

it seems to me that artist that study either industrial or architecture can really draw man made items/ buildings. A hint to future artists that have a problem drawing props and BGs ^^

I think Avatar's the best thing to happen to American animation since Batman: TAS, and the richness of its artistry and setting is a big part of what made it appeal to me. Elsa's work is simply breathtaking; it's fortunate for all involved that Nickelodeon recognized her talent and brought her on-board. Great column this week. Very Happy

(And I really need to finish up watching the third season...)

Avatar is probably one of my most favorite shows on the planet, so of course I was ecstatic to see Ms. Garagarza get featured. Her work is incredibly detailed and beautiful. I love it! Wink

Very appropriate since Avatar just won, I believe, two Annies last night and it is truly an awesome show. This show got my into manga, anime, drawing, sewing, cosplaying, and internet forums. All of the staff are amazing in this show for all their detailed work and creativity, kudos and thanks to everyone!

Since she's a graduate from Academy of Art in SF, my school is still showing her works...
