Even though I have this book (and I'm planning on getting the 2nd one--'cause I read them online), I think this rating is fair. I think this comic's a lot more enjoyable if you're a fan of the games. I think the fans like it 'cause it explores traits they don't have time for in the games (such as Link & Zelda's relationship, Sheik being mysterious), but it feels ordinary if you're not into the games. Very Happy

Good review, fair score, not a terrible manga but not one of the best either. will obviously appeal to fans of the game more so.

I would buy this if every single panel on every single page had Navi saying HEY! LISTEN!

I can't imagine that the sound of Navi's voice ever left the heads of the people who played the game. It still haunts me to this day.

Haha, nice. Makes me think of Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged:

(Kaiba's "video game" world)
Fairy: Hey, listen! Hey, listen!
Joey: Man, this is a really annoying fairy.
Yugi: Yeah, let's kill it!

Ah, poor Navi. I didn't find her annoying.

So, are any of the other Zelda mangas released, or likely to get released? I liked the four panel Wind Waker one.

The Legend of Zelda –Ocarina of Time– manga by Akira Himekawa, based upon the 1996 Nintendo 64 game of the same name, is certainly the former but most unlikely to be the latter.

Came out in '98...

I was tempted to bring up that PPG moment earlier. I chortled when I first saw it. I think that was the episode where Mojo Jojo babysat for the girls.

Well, that's not surprising that it's tripe.

But does Link actually have dialogue, or is he still stuck permanently on "mute"?

It's generally only Nintendo games that have Link mute (bar AoL); he talks in cartoons, comics, manga, CYOA books, the odd commercial, cereal boxes and the first two Philip's games.

Too bad he was so annoying in the 80s cartoon. At least he's likable here.

It was kind of fun to read and it had some interesting bits that weren't in the game, but everything happened way to fast and it rarely gave any heed to the moments in between major events.

The Philip's CDI games and tv show... ugh... don't remind me of that...

I was thinking of buying this, but after reading the review and looking at my fiancial status, I still I should do a pass at this series.
