Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to view the the review index page in an order other than alphabetical (such as ordering by date, grade or reviewer)? I ask because I'm looking to see what anime/manga have been reviewed by Carlo, whose opinions are typically closer to mine than any other reviewers, but just doing a search on his name only yields a somewhat messy collection of everything he's ever been involved in (RTO!, Interviews, Anime season previews, etc). If there is such a thing as a list of reviews by reviewer, I'd be very glad if someone could point me in its direction. ![]() |

You can do a search and you get a list of reviews by Carlo. There's no ordering option as you mentioned to my knowledge.

Thanks for the input ![]() It's a shame there's no ordering feature, I'd much prefer the information in a tabular or full-list format rather than as search results. I suppose I can live with it though, if I must. ![]() |

This search might also work well for you. But otherwise there's no way to do what you're asking for. I'll keep the idea in mind for the future.

A front-end that can't order by more than one criteria? For shame!
![]() Seriously though, this is pretty common for most front-ends these days, in fact it's an OOTB function in many cases. My Dan-envy is dropping to new lows here. ![]() |

Restricting the review archive by date is, in fact, built into the frontend like every other type of article:
animenewsnetwork.com/review/2008 There's just no interface for it because it's useless; reviews are not time-sensitive. Either you want to read a review of School Rumble or you don't; *when* the review was written is irrelevant. *Who* wrote the review is relevant and may be interesting to a few people, but it's not already built into the frontend. I'll add it when I have a few minutes free. |

Whoa, hold on there a second. I was joking about this, and I included smiles, so maybe you can chill out next time. Maybe it would be just as well to have a page that showed how you can get what you want by manipulating the URL? There are probably all sorts of cool things you can do with the URL if you just know what's available. Is there any interest in producing a rough draft of some of our options? |

Sorry if I gave you the impression I was pissed off in any way. I was just calmly explaining the reasoning behind the design of the review archives.
A forum thread would be a good place to archive a list of undocumented options. I actually don't remember all the switches and Easter eggs I put in there over the years. ![]() |
