It might be a good idea to change the cover art in this post. I doubt these songs would be in a detroit metal city album. Though, it was funny to see it.

What about the Phil Collins version of "True Colors"?
I just love the song, but I can't stand the original version at all. Cindi sounds like she's about to pull a vocal cord during the chorus and it's at a funeral dirge tempo. |

What about it? It's a nice rendition of the song as well. But it wasn't on this album.... |

That was just a remark on the two versions already on the album. |

I usually stay away from singles unless I'm trying out a group I've never heard of before. I already know MoMusu is crack Most likely, I won't talk about singles on the column. Of course, now that I've said that, I'll probably come across the most amazing single I've ever heard and just HAVE to talk about it |

Surprised Anna Tsuchiya isn't on this. She said Cyndi was one of her biggest influences, she even did a version of "True Colors" on her Album "Strip Me?"

This sounds like a really, really awesome album. I think I'm going to try to track down a copy sometime...

You would think, but this may be due to the record label producing this. It seems outside of Hajime Chitose, everyone is from For Life (Bennie K / Double/ Nana Kitade) or Sony (everyone else). And the album itself is produced by Sony. But still, its quite an impressive list of artists. I might need to check this album out myself. |

It's not terrible or anything, but amusing.

Interesting. Bennie K did a track? Coolness. Ok, I might have to track this down. I do love 'Cyndi Lauper'. Always felt she was a very talented artist.

Having listened to the whole album a few times, I have to agree with the article.
She Bop is one of my fav Cyndi songs, but I do have a really hard time listening to this version. It does have a strange off-kilter quality which Cyndi herself exemplifies though. And my husband found this to be one of his favorites. (He has the weirdest taste!) |

I absolutely love Becca's voice. It's very beautiful!
I agree with the "Goonies" version too... It's very weird. It reminds me of a "cool smooth sounds of the 70s" kinda version. Definitely not the more punky version Cyndi created. I do like it, but maybe that's because I watched too much "Swingtown" this summer. |
