Go for it. It's a pretty good anime with a mind bending plot. It is very violent, FYI.

If you consider yourself a mature individual, go for it. It's good.

Its pretty good anime with lots of gore and nudity (my type of anime ) I recommend you rent it first before buying it but that is up to you. There is almost no action its all suspense.

It's really violent and full of deep issues. Only get it if you like other mature anime. I didn't really like it that much because I favor comedy over everything else.

I liked it, but live greenwolf said you gotta be more on tha mature side because this is a movie that deals with real issues and takes itself very serious.

It's worth several viewings, but buyer beware, don't expect any power ups or SS stuff. This is serious storytelling with a thought provoking theme. If that is not your thing then don't bother.

I heard it once stated that if Alfred Hitchcock had done an anime, it would have been Perfect Blue. It does have that psychological suspense. So if that's the type of thing you are looking for, it's definetly worth your time.

Its a good movie but its definatly not for everyone I second the suggestion of renting before you drop the money on purchasing it.

Well a few things...
The US version of PB is actually better than the Japanese on DVD.
The Deluxe edition PB LaserDisc set (Japan only) comes with an actual cel from the movie.
The movie itself is a psychological thriller. I really was blown away by it when it came out (saw it in a theater in Japan). story telling is definitely some of the best in the past few years.
There is nudity and violence, for sure, but it's all part of the story and not gratuitous. This is definitely a R rated film I might add and not recommended for kids under 12-13, though I probably would've loved this movie way back then.
Soundtrack is also worht mentioning. Very dark and brooding. Really helps to build the suspense...
The director also directed/wrote Millenium Actress, Paranoia Agent and Tokyo Godfathers. He has written dozens of screenplays for anime films including the "Magnetic Rose" segment of "Memories".
I should also offer that you are a fan of dub anime, this may be one to avoid. The dub is particularly bad on it IMHO.

I'd say get it only if you've watched it a couple of times and really liked it enough to want to rewatch it again in the near future. For some Perfect Blue is not the kind of anime, they want to watch regularly due to the slightly disturbing subject matter. If you have not even seen it yet, borrow it from someone, or just rent it.

I should think that U shgould buy Perfect Blue. I only watched this once, but If you like gore, nudity, social issues etc, then Perfect Blue is 4 U, but be warned if you are a bit afraid!

I was on the same boat a few weeks ago. Heard all the good things about this film, but have very strong adult theme & content in it. Ended up buying the DVD and gave it a shot.
Turned out its a great film like many have said. Very clever in story telling. Very nice fluid animation in some scenes while good on others. But the adult content in it is so strong that it will definitely leave a permanent mark in your head. It has quite a bit of violence, blood, nudity, and even a simulated gang rape scene, which is very disturbing. If you are still pretty young, or not very comfortable about these stuff, stay away from it.

I think its over-rated. Rent it first.

Perfect Blue is my favorite anime movie of all time...It's a great film. You should deffinitely buy it.
IMO, it's not especially violent...but then again, Kill Bill didn't make me blink.
