Well, the fruit-lust is a little more important than just a quick pick-me-up, but what can you expect from the first movie.

Don't remember seeing this one ... so will refrain from yelling SALT!

More surprising was seeing KKM receiving top marks ... would've sworn previous reviews entailed jokes about the flushed monarch. Oh well. At least following the link to Amazon showed what lovely swag they threw in with the Shuffle ender box. It take real talent to make Najica look tasteful.

Agreed. Too bad about the glare in photos #3 & 4 though. Must say though, much as I love my boxes, having soooo many thins on the shelves sure does look quite purdy.

Of the entire Dragon Ball Z franchise, I think the movies may be the weakest. They don't really serve any purpose, and they don't really fit into the storyline, so they're completely extraneous.

Is plot really DBZ's strong suit? At least with the movies, you get to see some kind of story play out in less than the four million hours any particualar arc from the series takes.

"People get beat up all over the place, they wail at each other with energy attacks that send their opponents flying across the landscape, and eventually Goku saves the day. "

How dare you spoil the movie. (I kid, I kid) Anyway, I'd have to say those movies weren't ever really my favorites either, but speaking as someone who has seen all the DBZ movies you'll definitely find that most have nothing to do with the plot of the series, and several couldn't have happened at all.

And, poor old Shuffle. Even the panties couldn't save this volume from a perishable. Although I didn't think they would since that's one of the oddest, if not creepiest extra items ever.

You can blame the AoD forums for that little extra. People were talking about what they wanted as a pack-in bonus for the last volume, and somebody jokingly said, "Hey, how about panties!?" Nobody thought Funi was actually going to run with it. Rolling Eyes (For the record, I wanted replicas of Primula's stuffed cats.)

So that's where the ad about "You asked for it and you got it" came from. I was wondering who had actually asked. Mystery solved.

Also, I just read Graham's comment about his spending on his collection. I definitely like that comment, and it certainly puts my own spending in perspective. A few thousand over years is better than dropping a few thousand all at once and eventually having to replace it.

Hopefully it's just manga that would bother you because you'd also be bothered by my sizable DVD collection. I arrange them according to how much I liked a series. Although sometimes it boils down to just finding room for it all. Shocked

i for one enjoyed the ending to Shuffle sure spoiler[ Asa refusing to use her magic just so she can get better was kind of strange but Rin cured her by making a cut on his wrist with a box cutter and then she heals him with her magic and now she is cured of her illness and also im glad Asa and Kaede made up and are now friends again] but to be honest im glad Rin finally made his decision on who he wants the most instead of letting it drag on anymore. i was kind of suprised about Asa's mother on what this volume revealed about her(not going to say but when i was watching volume 4 when Sia's dad and Nerine's dad mentioned kind of got me wondering who they were talking about but now we know.

as for DBZ Tree of Might was the weakest of the movies besides maybe World's Strongest but it did have some cool fight scenes even though some of the stuff from that movie was like what? couldnt you thought of something better? with Lord Slug i quite enjoyed that movie and i dont know about you but i enjoyed the music from Disturbed and Deftones

on AoD forums i asked for a Shuffle pc game or even just a game for a gaming console(probably impossible of this happening for Americans but 1 can dream). but its one thing about the panties but does it have to be a replica of Sia's panties from episode 17? Primula's stuffed cat would of been something cool to have but im sure one of these companies like Great Eastern that tend to love to make anime accessories and stuff like that will probably make something like it in the future

Yeah, the added extra of the undergarments may seem a little odd, but it's been done before. A similar extra was added to the Najica Blitz Tactics box, back in the day.

I... didn't like the ending of Shuffle... ^^; Personally, I figured ANY choice sans the one made would have been better. I'm given to understand that the writers wanted a "twist" for the anime version. It didn't work. I did like watching the series as I didn't take it very seriously, I just thought the ending was awful.

Panty insert... Anime hyper And here I thought the Sailor Fuku-print T-shirt in the Lucky Star Vol. 1 CE was the weirdest thing I was going to come across.

I pick Lisianthus, by the way.

@Kanon: I wouldn't mind the PC game myself... I'm given to understand there's a fan translation that covers, like, two days... but I would seriously purchase an English version the day it came out. Anime hyper

What's worse is it's not the first time panties have been thrown into an artbox as an extra. I think the pair that came with Najica Blitz Tactics offered a little more 'coverage' though (I don't own either, so I'm not sure.)

Am I the only one who doesn't get the thinpak conversion thing? I mean, why willingly mutilate your DVD art for the sake of a lil' room? Maybe it's just becuase I'm an artbox junkie, I don't know...

To confess, I actually almost turned it off after the first minute, because the intro was really freaking annoying. The first thing we hear is Vic Migogna reading the damned FBI Warning in a series of voices. I wanted to bail out right then and there, because I thought it would be one of those “woooooaaaaah, we're whacky voice actors!!!” shows, but after that brief moment, the rest of it is fairly interesting.

What's up with all the Vic Mignogna hate around this community?? Every time I turn around it's "bash Vic time". I happen to like Vic, thank you very much. I think he's a fine voice actor and very entertaining to listen to.
