So Gonzo owns part of CR? Very interesting...
Now when Japanese companies want someone to go after for distributing their works illegally the have someone close at hand.

Damn, I was really hoping GONZO would finally go under. We all know they're not making another Last Exile type of show again, so they're basically worthless. And I hate their continued use of CG.

This is why I say - Crunchyroll is totally LEGAL... that's the point everyone keeps missing... CR has the rights in place to do what it is doing, and in addition to BOST and VEOH, these are the ONLY 3 LEGAL large-scale online streamed anime distribution places (not counting iTunes, Amazon, Blockbuster, STARZ and Netflix which do either renting or sales - something a bit different).

Crunchyroll is showing some anime legally. I doubt even Crunchyroll will claim that all the anime videos on its site are "totally legal."

Thats fine by me I think it needs to be policed more, its just a shame the orignal people who set up crunchyroll have made money from it.

You realize I will kick you out of here if you keep up this obvious and deliberate trolling, right?

Yes, but for some odd reason it felt like it worked there. But now they all just seem really out of place and they stand-out way too harshly, like with Blassreiter or Origin.

Crunchyroll seems to be improving on the whole. They seem to be pretty legal in my view, as it keeps strict tabs on what's uploaded (unlike youtube, or it's less savoury clone veoh), of course they only take stuff offline when asked, but I see nothing wrong with that. They're also not soliciting donations either.

See now this is fine and all that, its just a shame it was built on a slimy corrupt website.

If CR can go a year without hosting any unauthorized content, I'll consider it clean. Until then, I'm not touching it with a ten meter cattle prod.
In the meantime, I fear for GONZO if liability in Japan works anything like it does in the U.S.

To kokuryu: Obvious fail troll is obvious.
To v1cious: This makes me wonder--why hasn't Gonzo looked there to stream their shows? The fact that I can't watch older eps of Strike Witches to get up to speed on everything up to now without having to download makes me rage.

GONZO's Blassreiter and Tower of Druaga are great anime among Last Exile, Welcome to NHK, and Pumpkin Scissors. Other people may have different taste, but I like them. It would be nice if a R1 company license Blassreiter and Druaga on dvds for 2009.
Is the CR investment paying off for GONZO?
BTW: I am not a huge fan of CR, but I support legal download of anime. It's about paying $$ for a product. That's equivalent exchange.
