So, I finished reading this series. Compared to what I said about Magic Knight Rayearth in the last thread, I have to say that the ending was good, though I would say that it was "unexpected." There were characters who died that I didn't expect otherwise, and some who didn't die that I thought would ultimately die. The story with it's development gave a very twisted and suspenseful storyline. What the protaganists were seemingly trying to do was spoiler[in the end the wheel of destruction, with a majority of them being killed in the process.] Definetly what I would consider to be a great work by CLAMP, with all the others.

I like RG Veda quite a bit, though I find that I actually would forget how much I did enjoy it until I picked up a new volume back before I had them all.

However, I'm not a huge fan of the ending, it felt a bit rushed IIRC. And I know I felt that some of the spoiler[major character deaths weren't treated as well as the minor characters from earlier on in the series, and so I cared more about the dancer girl from the first volume than about the fact that some of the main characters were gone.] All and all, I think it would have been better with a little more time given to make things count more.

Ah yes, Gigei. As I mentioned in the other thread spoiler[her death was very upsetting to me, seeing as how she had a goal in life but she was never allowed the chance to pursue it. ]Everybody spoiler[else's death was kind of like ehh. Like Garyoubinga, when she was singing upon her death, you would get the feeling that she would die.]

I found that a lot of the other spoiler[minor character deaths were similar in the effect they had on me to Gigei's. I think the minor characters were the real strength of this series, while at points the major characters were its weakness.]

Being a die-hard CLAMP fan, I picked up this title when TokyoPop first released it a few years ago. But I found it rather lacking, and could never motivate myself to read much past the second (I think?) volume. So, I'm guessing it gets better? I trust both of your opinions and I'd like to know.

I think it picked up somewhat after the third volume, but after spoiler[the death of Garyoubinga, who is Karuraou's sister, then things were really moving. And then when you hear about what ultimately became of her corpse, ]then you really get upset. I think it's worth the read.

I definitely think it's worth reading, as I said it's a series that I really loved though I had a tendency to forget how much I enjoyed it until I was reading it again (don't know why). You can tell that CLAMP was still new to the manga thing, but they are good storytellers. So yes, I would suggest giving it at least one more volume to prove itself at least.
