This is very, very pleasing. Why did the Ode to Joy suddenly start playing in my head after I read the article?
We'll have to wait an entire year, but that'll be a year of delicious waiting, I suppose. |

If hte light novels are unedited, I"m putting money aside for them the minute i find out. If they ARE edited.... maybe when i find htem in a discount bin, or maybe sooner, or not depends on the edits |

To bad there's a lull in the novels where they go absolutely no where in terms of character development for upwards of 4 volumes since they tend to hit the reset button at the end with an "and everything went back to normal now that Haruhi's calmed down" scenario. Any progression in the characters relationships beyond the first volume is precious. Personally the first mildly interesting thing that happens in ages beyond the first volume is in the ninthh volume and that's a long way off. Oh well. As long as they don't take too long translating it people should be happy.

And so my misread ended up being true after all. I've already pre-ordered the hardcover edition.

If I remember correctly, the novel has the same content as the episodes based on it, except for that one line in the show (after Haruhi has the club president grope Mikuru) that was bleeped; the translation I saw said "gangrapped". Personally I thought it was funnier with the bleep instead.
Just go to Rightstuf.com. Tried making a link, but I couldn't for some reason. |

From RightStuf
I assume you were trying to link to the announcement like I was at first. I think the asterisks screw up the code. |

Honestly, the publisher's name doesn't have much to do with the CONTENT of what they publish. Although I have no interest in these novels, I just wanted to point out that Little, Brown at one point published the Gossip Girl and A-List series, and those are not for "young" readers at all. They are definitely considered mature young adult, as I imagine Haruhi will be considered as well. |

Yes!! I've been wanting to read the novels for some time. I knew that there was a fan translation on the net somewhere, but I just can't stand reading books on the computer for some reason. (Books are meant to be read in bed! For me anyway..)
Now I just someone to bring over Spice and Wolf and all will be awesome. (I don't hold out much hope for that..) |

"Hannah Montana meets Heroes."
My head just exploded. This does not bode well. |
