What was the goal and rules for the mini game? I didn't participate last time but I'd be interested in doing it this time.

Well the brackets are more or less done, and set up for the mini game is almost done.
If your wondering what the mini game is, it's were you predict who's going to win each round all the way to the end. For each matchup you predict right you get points and whoever has has the most points at the end wins. There will be some kind of Anime related prize for whoever wins although we haven't decided what exactly that will be, not like $1,000 worth of stuff, but something.... And once again if we don't get enough entries there will be no mini game. I'm still working on the minor details and will post all the info sometime tomorrow Tuesday 4/8. You will then have about a week to send in your entries. Until then

Given that this tournament isn't starting right after/during a Grand Slam Tennis tournament, I will likely be participating in the mini-game (after all, I "won" the first unofficial mini-game back in the crazy character contest ^_-) I wasn't all that interested in the evil contest, plus I was too tired of brackets at the time due to its proximity to I believe it was the U.S. Open (my husband and I have a bracket competition every Slam...)
I'm glad to see that the Sakura and Shaoran I know made it through to the tournament. They're one of the few heterosexual anime couples that I actually really like. |

Just a couple questions about the mini-game.
Does it work out like a fantasy league for playoff teams? Also do we send in submissions of all our choices at once? Or do we submit are entries after each round of the tournament? |

well I've never done fantasy league football, so I'm not sure what you mean exactly?
I discissed it frentymon and yes you will need to fill out the entire bracket start to finish. Not round by round. |

Sorry it took so long but here it is....
Best Duo Tournament Mini-Game Here is the website for the rest of the tournament bracket updates and currently containing all the info you need to complete in the mini-game: http://home.comcast.net/~unirizer2/ All you have to do is predict who will win each match in all brackets all the way to the FINAL BATTLE. The easiest way to do this is to download the .pdf empty bracket and fill in all the numbers using the handy number/show refrence guides in .doc, .rtf, .txt, or webpage format. Use photoshop, adobe reader, or even if you have to print it, fill it out, scan it, and save it as a .jpg, whatever it takes (if you take the print it out route the numbers must be legible! If I can't read the number you wrote and it's not easy to figure it out, it will count as zero points for that round) I do promise if I don't understand a number I will try and email asking for clarification so send your brackets in ASAP. After you have completed your bracket send it too my email address: [email protected] Please make sure to include your ANN screen name somewhere in the email so I know it's your entry. Of course, only one entry per person. Entries will be due sometime before round one starts. As soon as it does, no other entires will be accepted. It should start in about a week or so. There is going to be a prize for whoever comes out on top in the mini-game. Currently I plan to offer $250.00 worth of anime related merchandise of the winners choosing. (this prize has been ok'd by tempest). If we don't get a fair amount of mini-game entries then unfortunately there will be no mini-game at all. I realize that taking the time to fill out an entire bracket is time consuming, but hopefully the prize will be a good enough incentive to get you through it

Just to be nice, and clear out some space lol, I'll throw in some random anime/manga related items I have to the mini game winner. It won't be a couple of full seasons of anything mind you but something is better then nothing right? If by some stroke of luck from the Lord almighty I win it then the #2 person will get the prizes from me anyway. I figure it's best to give them away then simply throw stuff away.

I can't even decide on which way I will vote for many of these let alone which way everyone else will. There are some that I think are safe like Mustang and Hughes vs. Shadow Girl 1 and 2, but for the most part this will be a tough battle. If you get less than X number of entries in the next few days would it be okay to just come up with predictions for how the final four spots will play out? Would anyone mind after filling out all the slots if the contest was made a bit simpler? I think this would be a better alternative to having the mini-game cancelled due to not enough submissions. I believe coming up with a pair from each group and guessing how the following two rounds will play out still should have a good number of variables.

Okay, mini-game entry sent! Yikes, that took longer than I thought. It was especially tricky trying to judge for pairings of shows I've never seen.
And there were a few really hard match-ups, even early on, like Hideki & Chii vs Spike & Jet. |

It took me a while too.
I don't think that I'll win. I let my fan girl side out! 
But, there were some tough choices to make even in the first round. *************** Before I forget...will this thread be used for the main Tournament or will there be a completely new thread developed with a link provided to it via this one? (Just to remind those of us who don't remember things one minute to the next.) |

For mini-game prizes I feel like contributing something. I have some manga volumes that I don't read anymore as well as some anime if anyone is interested in using them as prizes.
Anime: Kakurenbo Manga Bleach Volume 1 XXXHolic Volume 1 Zombie Powder Volume 1 Yakitate! Japan Volume 1 Basilisk Volumes 1-3 Suzuka Volumes 1-2 Haha sorry if you find these prizes to be rather weak but still its better than nothing right? And if anything you could sell them off as they're all in good condition. Oh and just a short question just to be sure but the numbers in the list are the numbers we use to fill in the brackets right? Sent in my bracket. I'm fairly good a balancing who I want to win and who I honestly think will win each round. If the two clash, I take into consideration how much time I'd be willing to campaign for the "liked" duo. If it's not much, then I'll go with the one that I think is more likely to get through on the basis of the popularity of the series, etc.
The winners of this contest seem a forgone conclusion, but I hope I'm wrong and it will turn out to be a bit more exciting than that. I personally don't like the duo that I'm fairly sure will win all that well, but I'm always a bit contrary. |

If we don't get enough entries I will consider this option. But for now I'd still fill out the whole bracket just in case we do get enough entries so you don't get left out.
Yes. I just thought filling in numbers would mean a lot less typing and overall be quicker to fill out the whole bracket. |
