i watched first episode and yeah i agree with the review...

it's totally written for fanboys...lots of oggling, panty shots, cute chicks, unwilling and yet submissive boy....

i've seen better fanservice shows that had better comedy than this tripe...

[Note: I've split this thread into two in order to encourage discussion of the new reviews, as well as new comments about the old reviews in the new thread, while allowing existing conversations to continue in this thread. -t]

I watched a few episodes of spice and wolf, and I have to say that the romantic aspect was there but it seemed more like an economics lecture disguised in the form of an anime.

I can't wait to see what will be said about Bus Gamer, hopefully it's been done with good intent so that it doesn't deter from having to watch it, although I rather would.

Casey is a new reviewer? I don't recall seeing the name before.

Casey is our newest critic, yes. She will be joining our full-length reviews team after this preview guide.

I think he/she means separators, or visual cues to help split up the reviews from each other, like lines, etc.

Rating: 3.5 (of 5)

The underlined part. At first Casey's reviews didn't have them, so one wouldn't know if those ratings were out of 5, 10, or any other number. They have been added by now.

I like the new format! Particularly the multiple reviewers part, this should enable any of us to get a balanced view of each title!

Kanokon never seemed like it would be good (though the artwork seems reasonably good )

And I wasn't sure of Bus Gamer to begin with, so I probably won't try to watch either now

When it comes with Kawasumi X Noto, nothing can be bad. Embarassed

Gotta finish Yume Tsukai first...

That was fast.

I was torn on whether I was going to watch Kanokon. On the one hand, I wanted a mindlessly fanservicey series this season (as I didn't catch any winter '08, ZSZS doesn't really count), plus it's got a fox-girl. On the other hand, I don't trust Xebec because of what they did to Negima. So I decided to watch the first episode.
Although I don't pay much attention to voice actors, I pretty much immediately recognized the leads but couldn't place them. About ten minutes in, I realized, "Kota is Kotomi Ichinose! I find this funny." It was then I decided that I will watch the series.

I should have figured Bus Gamer was by the Saiyuki guy. The character design was familiar and the yaoi potential seemed high.

Despite that, I think I'll watch the other two eps. If it's only three eps it's not gonna be a huge waste of time, plus it's been a while for a hardcore streetfighting show, so I'll happily turn my brain off and enjoy the violence for a bit.
