The story sounds pretty good for this one - I think I'm gonna have to make the journey up to the U-district this weekend. Has anybody seen this and can stop/encourage me before I go through with it?

If you want anime which is innovative, see Tokyo Godfathers. Anyway, I'm glad people are actually supporting a Kon movie this time around.

Well, where I lived, Millenium Actress got good support too. I do wish they had called more attention to it. By the time I had heard it was playing near me, it was already gone. @#$%!!!

None of Kon's previous films made it to where I live and I sent in a question as to whether or not "Tokyo Godfathers" would be coming and I got the automated shoulder-shrug response. But, then again, "Spirited Away" didn't come to our theatres either.

I just came back from seeing Tokyo Godfathers. It was really good. There was a lot more comedy than I thought there was going to be. The US trailer made it look all serious, and it really wasn't.
It was rather interesting that the Spanish spoken by the hitman and his wife wasn't subtitled, but I don't think it'll be a problem for most of the people who see this.
The only thing I didn't like about it washow there was no real resolution to the hitman subplot, unless I missed something.
All in all, Tokyo Godfathers was a great and innovative movie. In a sea of giant robots and fanservice, it's nice to see something fresh and innovative.
Interestingly enough, the local art house i saw Tokyo Godfathers never got Millenium Actress, but it did get Cowboy Bebop and a subtitled print of Spirited Away.
