Kenta Shinohara is back in animated form with a quirky, cute, and hilarious cast getting into magical misadventures.
Nico thinks she's in a romcom, Moi thinks he's in a serious fantasy anime where he's the perpetual straight man, their teacher is the only qualified person to teach this class as a manga otaku, the colorful class rolls with everything. The OP and ED are stellar. What more could you want?
Also I love how Studio Bibury end up with reference-heavy anime.

Megumi Ishitani is truly an unbelievable director. What an Opening that is.
As a Gintama and Sket Dance fan, I obviously can't resist watching this. I thought the first episode was a bit weak, but I'm starting to warm up to it with its second episode.

I loved SKET Dance back in the day but I was not the biggest fan of Astra and felt Shinohara is much better suited to do more comedic school hijimks so I'm glad to see Witch Watch finally get adapted and have been loving it so far.

Episode 2 is better than 1, unfortunately I feel the character writing its weaker than Sket Dance's.
For now its funny and have no problem with keeping watching, but Sket Dance had an stronger beginning.

I honestly avoid watching anime OPs until I watch the show itself, but when I saw that Ishitani did the OP I had to watch the OP, and yea, it's amazing. It has SO many nods to things that will happen in super subtle ways and it was only on my most recent rewatch that I noticed it shows that a character I didn't think it would show up in this season probably will. Also, it has a YOASOBI song elevating it even more. Just amazing stuff.

It reminded me of Gintama MS Paint opening lmao

One of my favorite things in anime (or heck, in any show, period) is when a show alters its opening/ending for something, whether it's something like a simple gag or something more dramatic like a character's death
So what I'm saying is before I was kinda just watching the show because it popped up at the top of Netflix recommended shows, but now I'm actively looking forward to future episodes (also the smaller/dumber Nicos cracked me up).
