I still have my 3DS exclusively because of this game and Bravely Second. I will definitely be buying this the minute I get my Switch 2. And after watching the Direct, I know why they had to wait this long... (spoilers for an old game) because they needed a console with a camera for the end game fight!
I hope we get another game in the series... Bravely Default 2 was kind of a letdown...

I'm glad this is getting a remaster, it definitely deserves a second chance. It also looks like it's the cheapest of the launch games, so maybe people will give it a chance.

before I found out they were remastering this, i totally thought it was a remaster of ff 9 instead,, this image reminded me a lot of Garnet and its the 25th anniversary
...not sure if im getting this, wasnt a huge fan of redoing the worlds over and over, got boring after a while

Yeah a lot of people online I saw had that same fakeout.
hopefully maybe one of their "new features" mentioned will be like cutting 2 or 3 of the redos out of the game

I don't think it's likely they'll change that. I honestly didn't mind and even liked some of the boss rematches, except for the fact that everyone's characterization is notably different after the reset so that they're more redeemable after what you've learned, but I really hated that my characters had to be the stupidest people in the world to make it to the true final boss.

I hated this too. And I really wished we fought more monster bosses.

The biggest issue I have with the lategame storytelling is in the fact that they make it very clear that the party is suspicious of Airy and knows they can't trust her, including making a point of making sure she isn't around before talking about their suspicions about their mission, but when she does drop the act and show her true colors they act completely shocked and dismayed anyway. It kind of just makes it feel like a large chunk of the foreshadowing and the characters' actions getting there meant nothing and like a lot of the endgame plot doesn't actually matter at all.

I was looking forward to this, but my interest was killed when I found this is is a download only title. There is no reason this game couldn’t be put on a cartridge, I do not wish to support buying physical games that still require an internet download, like if they HAVE to I’d be more okay with it if this wasn’t just an HD remaster of 3DS game that already could fit on a cartridge just fine. This is setting a precedent I am already not looking forward to with the Nintendo Switch 2.

I wonder if they could slightly adjust the ridiculous difficulty spike that happens out of nowhere during the last 1/4 of the game. You go from one shotting everything to suddenly getting overwhelmed by mobs on the overworld and there's no real way to prepare unless you know it's coming and grind in advance.
Very frustrating part of an otherwise stellar game imo
