This should be fun. The manga has a good bit of a dark-humor bent.

I did read it at first because it felt quite quirky, but I dropped it for what happened in chapter 15...

Yeah I'm also on that boat. I don't know if it wants to be dark humour but it's very bad at humour, or it's trying to be depressing and just building up on that for some distant payoff.
Either way, after the shellshock of chapter 15 and the next chapter going on without giving a damn about it, I decided I had more than enough.
I was on board for a quirky comedy animated by Shaft but this ain't it.

Can someone post what happens in spoiler tags?
I'm mildly interested in this but I'd rather not get invested only to get blindsided.

Technically the one who gets shitted on isn't a main character.
Our protagonist assassin goes back to school. There she talks with a friendly acquaintance (whose parents she's implied to have murdered), then she's presented with the girl's best friend, who is booksmart and looks like her. An assassination offer up for grabs shows up in her job app and she excuses herself to take it. The target: the lookalike friend because the client is salty that she's outperforming her son on mock exams. Next page, our assassin meets the first girl again and helps her. They're handing out posters because the lookalike friend has gone missing, as the girl laments that everyone who approaches her becomes unfortunate.

To add to the above; The job offer was specifically to make her 'disappear without a trace'. And going by comments on further chapters, she's not given a mention again so it was not a 'Never Found the Body' trope either..
