I’m still shocked they didn’t just remake the whole show but I’m super glad that they at least made Perfect Origin available in the US! Hopefully one day we’ll get the rest of the series too.

I was just going to try this show but my Netflix sub just ran out! Glad to hear it's good and after hearing JoJo fans would love it too since that's my second favorite Shonen series ever. I'm very sad I didn't watch it. Hopefully I'll see it when One Piece L-A season 2 is out.

I don't know if a full-on redo of the original manga would be feasible, but I also don't think the way this show has handled trying to catch people up has been great. Episode 0 was a cute way to repurpose a one-shot, but I would be surprised if people completely new to Kinnikuman got anything out of it or the later character introductions even though they are pretty

This was a fun season despite some odd adaptation choices. I hope people who checked it out stick with it, because it gets much better from here (still love you Atlantis!)

I was at least somewhat familiar with the franchise thorugh the Ultimate Muscle anime from 4Kids, even if I had absolutely no knowledge of it's forefather series or anything that happened in it.

I found Episode 0 a pretty comedically clunky recap yet I still found myself engrossed in the action and high-octane fantastical wrestling just because they committed so hard to it and still gave you the bare minimum enough to help you understand the characters and get invested in their fights. Plus, it's just fun!

I'm also currently enjoying the second cour!

I think that would have been 36 tankōban to adapt. Even if they skipped the two Monster Extermination Arcs, that would have been a ton of content to remake. I don't know if there's enough interest to fund something like that.

They ended up making the same decision as Baki, to continue where the original left off.

Considering the show is superpowered pro wrestling, it makes a disturbing amount of sense that it picks up from another arc. It’s like someone tuning into Raw randomly and trying to figure out the storylines.

It’s a shame they haven’t dubbed it because the show is a ton of fun. As far as wrestling cartoons go, it’s far superior to that weird Toonami one.

I tried to watch Episode 0 of season 1 and just couldn't get into it. However:

I think there are a lot of anime fans—a lot of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fans, in particular—who would love Kinnikuman if they only gave it a try.

The magic words have been uttered. Challenged accepted. One second chance, coming up.

I mean your comparing to a long-running series, really long-running Kinnikuman is literally several decades old to Invincible Fight Girl which is a brand new cartoon on its first season.

They are both doing their own thing with the wrestling format, pitting them against each other is like having a veteran all-star face-stomping the newbie who just started. Its unnecessary to force some kind of nonexistent competition.

It's a bit of a challenge to watch a sequel series, when the first few seasons are almost impossible to watch.
