I've been waiting for this one to get an anime! It proves that isekai works in a sci fi environment.

Nice, i took a break after vol 2 and kept telling myself to continue each time a new volume came out, the coming anime will be a good motivation.

Obligatory trigger warning:
spoiler[This is another title where the main dude sleeps with all the girls. The first girl he buys as a slave and the 2nd he pays off her debts so she feels obligated to sleep with him. To his credit he's not a perv who buys them because he wants to sleep with them, but he doesn't refuse when offered.] But it's nice to get isekaied into a sci-fi setting instead of a fantasy one. |

I find the novels underwhelming. "Isekai, but EVE Online" is exactly the thing I would enjoy, but the character (or more accurately his ship) is so OP that there's no tension to the fight scenes, and there are no villain characters that you want to see get curb-stomped, just faceless mooks who go from over-confident to dead in two pages. If you're going to do this type of series, it should be about some some genius strategist like Log Horizon in space.

I've heard good things about this series! Isekai Sci-Fi Harem for the win!
I've also heard the protagonist actually engages in sex, so I wonder if that will also make it into the anime? |

Spreadsheet updated.
Not the fastest turnaround -- even by 2019, six Narou novels had gotten published faster, just counting the ones on my spreadsheet -- but still pretty damn fast. There are any number of more recent WNs that took over a year to make it into print. |

And I feel obliged to add that I'm listening to the audiobooks but the MC is a bit of a creep. This series is one of the wish fulfilments where the guy is loved by all the women, is super powerful and the target of jealousy. The biggest concern here is the introduction of the stereotypical polar opposites, this time being dwarven twins that are mechanics on his ship. It's the usual, older than they look but they absolutely look like lolis. spoiler[ After wearing him down, he does eventually sleep with them.][/spoiler] |

Should note though as crew of his ship they are still paid and that relationship issue is specific to the first two girls. spoiler[By the point where I stopped in the WN, they had reached a point where they should have easily earned enough to be able to completely buy back their own freedom and be out of debt. The fact that neither girl did and instead were spending money on either weird exotic alien foods or expensive alcohol was something even the protagonist picked up that both girls were likely deliberately delaying paying off their debts to him.]
A good portion of isekai in the end are just power fantasy type stories, at least with this series the protagonist seems to have realized that along with it he's also a massive magnet to get pulled into unwanted adventures and dangers. So it's at least in this regard not taking itself too seriously, especially as the protagonist has awareness that he always seems to attract trouble. As for fights, there was definitely one fight that was particularly close spoiler[when he had to fight that high ranking merc unit]. The outcome was more of a draw than anything else, with both sides recognizing each other as too dangerous to mess with in the end. spoiler[It of course turns out the leader of the merc unit was a person in a similar situation as the protagonist].
There was nothing particularly graphic during such scenes, so I could see them working some of that into the anime adaption. It'd also be hard to avoid completely with the first two girls at the start of the series. |

hmmm sounds like the author did a complete role reversal in his other work "Survival In Another World With My Mistress" |

I liked "Survival with Mistress" - it's actually kind of annoying that the author abruptly ended it because he wanted to focus on "Space Mercenary". Especially since it ended withspoiler[a giant time-skip that killed off a lot of the supporting cast off-screen, and a lot of the series' long-standing mysteries were either ignored or given unsatisfying resolutions.] |

The more I read the manga, the less interesting it became. All the typical Isekai points are also found in the title. It feels like all the fantasy characters and story have been transferred to a sci-fi setting, instead of new awesome characters and a less typical Isekai story.

At least it's not medieval. That's a start.
