Good, more eye candy for the rest of us. Some of us actually appreciate Disney animation. With Madhouse's animation and the Japanese setting this could be pretty neat, though I'm sure it'll still remain very Disney. Doesn't look like they're making any drastic changes, I could easily see this making it's way out of Japan (unlike Powerpuff Girls Z which never left Asia aside from I guess some sort of Latin America version).

Wow, Stitch looks so on-model in that picture... if only official Disney merchandise could follow Madhouse's example! (Though it probably helps that Stitch does not suffer from "only Glen Keane can draw me correctly" syndrome. 'sup Ariel/Pocahontas/Aladdin.)
I can't help but be irrationally excited about this project. Most importantly, will someone (Disney Disney Disney) bring it over to R1 Land?

Dude, I was just kidding in that post! I think it looks pretty good judging from that lone screenshot. Maybe this will turn out to be a nice surprise for all of us.

They didn't change her look, it's an entirely different girl.
I can't help but be exited to see this. I hope it turns out good, no matter what direction they trake with it.

They probably should just pay Ghibli to work on it, since it's clear Disney's trying to cash in on the studio's style again more than L+S....

Feels like a trend that's going around doesn't it? Birdy, Slayers, Evangelion.......

Hah, hah! I'm surprised you didn't include Beast! I was totally expecting you to list Beast after I read that "only Glen Keane can draw me correctly" bit. Beast has got to be the best example of that "syndrome."

Hmm...I don't see why they had to change it to a japanese setting...
Why can't Japan embrace Hawaii's culture, then? =P
Anyway, this is making me feel meh-ish. I liked Lilo, I'm pretty sure the anime will be popular, but...
pssh...I'll always have a heart for the original Disney version.

I loved the original movie. The US TV series, not so much. I can only hope that this series will be a return to form despite the change in setting.
