So when does this season air? Is there a break or is it right off the bat? Sorry, I couldn't really tell from the announcement.

They can't say when because they don't know when. By the end of 2025, I would guess.
I would hope the next season won't be 12 episodes long. |

I’m grateful for more new episodes but highly disappointed that the first season was a measly 12 episodes. Seeing as how MAPPA doesn’t let up off the gas, it’s anyone’s guess when season 2 will air. The announcement only stated it was in production.

I'm really surprised that this is only 12 episodes long. Why did they wait until the last episode to announce it's only 12 episodes long this season?

Would it be possible for the second season to have more episodes or each season will be 12 episodes each? Or are we talking about second cour? Either way, I think the new Ranma ½ anime has been well received by old fans and has also attracted a new audience, I'm hoping MAPPA will adapt the entire manga, but I hope it won't take so long, but I know anime these days don't tend to have so many episodes as they used to 10 or 15 years ago |

So this one will get a 2nd season, huh. I wonder how many seasons (assuming it'll get a 3rd season) will this particular anime will get, probably not as much as compared to the 1989-92 series. I hope I'm wrong but it doesn't looked like this anime will be as remembered as the 1st TV series (and that one is still loved even to this day).

Huh I assumed 24 episodes with a option for another 24 or 12 depending on how well it did. They never did much besides a few OVAs after Ranma's Mom is finally indroduce in the original tv series.

This should've been 24 episodes straight up. It's not like this is a My Hero Academia"- type situation where they had to test the waters. Ranma 1/2 is a classic franchise

That's my thought also. Ranma 1/2 is a beloved franchise, I'm kind of surprised that they didn't go for 24 episodes for this one given how well-known the classic is. Then again, MAPPA has a lot of work and schedule going out for them, I mean beside Ranma, they have other anime works they're currently working on that parallel with Ranma. So that would make sense why 12 episodes for this season instead of 24 episodes. This, and a lot of issues with MAPPA regarding working/labor conditions, animators are underpaid, and I can go on. That could factor in why Ranma 1/2 only has 12 episodes for this season. |

You wouldn't know that for another 32 years anyway. |

I'll wait and see if the 2024 version is just as remembered like the 1st series, but the 1st series is still remembered many years later. This one, I don't know and time will tell. |

I knew we were getting more episodes, though I guess a split-cour is probably easier on MAPPA.
spoiler[Also Toshihiko Seki is definitely back as Mousse.] |

I'd be more surprised if this wasn't getting another season, though I also would have thought we'd get more episodes in the first *shrug*
