As someone who follows their parks, I knew this would happen. Just wait for the greedy years when they decide they need 2 raises.

I was lucky enough to get their ad version with Hulu+ on Black Friday last year for $2.99/month. I canceled last month because I wasn't really watching it and knew my deal would end soon.

I was only watching on my PC with an adblocker, so I never saw the ads.

This serves as a reminder to me to cancel the Disney+ part of my Hulu subscription.

Hulu is pay for ad tv. You pay for ads like Amazon Prime another wasted of money. Cable rates for each streaming service? No thanks!

Hulu's basically a service for watching cable TV shows as they air. When it was competing against Netflix, that was the big thing. Netflix got an entire season months after it aired on TV, Hulu got the episodes as they aired. Hulu also licenses shows from Crunchyroll and Sentai. The catch was that you could watch it for free with an ad-based service, or without ads for a fee. Now it's watch with ads for a fee, and watch without ads for a greater fee.

Disney bought them out, and now it's basically the same, except it's also a portal to other services like Amazon Prime is. My brother-in-law's Hulu account had HBO Max and Disney + added to it, for example. The other thing that's worth noting is that Disney has been reluctant to put anime on Disney + in the states, so if they get a series, it's probably going to air exclusively on Hulu instead.
