ANN once again being fashionably late because this was reported weeks ago
And uh....given the kigurumi incident that happened last year (because that was layers upon layers of messy), this doesn't shock me at all, I imagine this is to prevent something like that from happening again and I felt really bad for the Japanese fans during that incident (It's a good thing that incident blew over fast and wasn't enough to ruin Pretty Cure gettin' some massive Ws last year AND this year because 20th anniversary, well deserved Ws too) |

They haven't even commented on all the Managaka doing the contribution for the 30th anniversary Kenshin event either. Like it was all over Twitter. |

Both park authorities and Toei actually caught up on that pretty quickly before serious things happened with ruling things out like banning the use of cosplay with full-cover kigurumi masks in public area, but this one seems to be a follow-up. |

Unpopular opinion: adults unrelated shouldn't go to kid's events. I have never thought any parent should be worried on taking their kids to a Pretty Cure event. |

There are no 'safe spaces' for children at public events, even ones aimed for children. Nothing stopping an event volunteer or staff member from escorting a child to a 'special screening' in a back room, with no one around, also including security guard/police officer taking your child away to be 'screened' for stolen items (whether it is a bad actor cop or a valid accusation; the parent should be there to prevent harm or to handle the fallout)
And aren't parents required to be there to escort their children anyway. They are not allowed to run rampant through the facility. And it is also the parent's responsibility to know the maturity level of their children, like knowing if your child can be led off to find Mister Bunny Rabbit. I am not familiar with Precure (and similar shows) events and conventions, but if you want it to be a kids event; you need to run it like you are catering to "American" children. If you are going to have most of the 'trappings' of a normal Anime convention, you are going to have adult fans interested in going. But if you want a true kids event, then it has to be tailored for children, and not teenagers and young adults. You can weed out most of the adult fans, if they are just going to be bored attending, and the stubborn ones can be more easily shamed into departing, lest the incur the inspection of the police. If you have concerts, voice actors/actresses, industry guests, giveaways, screenings at your event, it is not a kids event, and you are not going to be able to prevent adults from attending. |

Having been to events where it is in place (for safety reasons), I prefer that all children and pets be on a leash. |
